This Year's Model Updates:

The base 1.8 model receives the body-colored door handles and upper instrument panel storage bin from the upper-level models. A trip computer and cruise control are now included on the 1.8 S, and all models receive new seat fabrics. There's also a new color for the gauge cluster housing on the SE-R, and a new shift knob for the SE-R Spec V.

Pros:
  • Functional cabin design, powerful 2.5-liter engine, nimble handling, lots of standard features.
Cons:
  • Generic styling, small backseat, SE-R Spec V model commands premium price.

  • Darn Good Car - 2005 Nissan Sentra

I bought mine about 5 - 6 months ago, drives good, I dont get 30 mpg though like the other comments left, I get about 20 mpg and 25 on highway, either way its a cute compact car, dont like the trunk lights too much but the front is nice looking, could be a little bigger inside, overall no problems.

I am a previous 89 Maxima SE owner (still running with 210K miles son has it) and thought the down grade would make me miss the Maxima. This was not the case, I now have better performance and fuel economy (avg 29.5) and when I purchased it I added two tone black/orange leather. The NISMO cat back and cold air intake were worthy investments the performance increase with these put me now at 95/99 Maxima numbers (184 Hp@ 4k rpm and 195 ft/lbs @ 4K). The leather upgrade gave it a very upscale look to. Thanks to the guys at Maxwell Town North Nissan for making it all happen at a great price.

I love the look of this car and all of the features. I have had some problems though w/ the keyless entry but its in the process of being fixed. Great car for first time buyer who wants a lot for a moderate price.

I have never owned one of cars before, but my son got me a terrific deal on this one. Its a Nissan Special Edition with a 6-disk CD changer and a 1-disk loader, 6 inside speaker surround sound with a sub woofer mounted in the very large trunk. The left side of the back seat folds down, creating even more cargo space. Yes, the back seat is small, but Im very short and the only one in the car most of the time. Still, its big enough for my grandkids, carseats an all. I get great mileage with this wonderful little car, and theres even a window, part of the odometer, that tells my mileage as I go on. It also tells the outside temperature & how far Ive gone each trip. Be happy!!!

This car is really fun to drive, but the day after I bought this car i washed it, and both the front bumper, and the rear bumper are already loose. Im afraid if i try and dry the bumpers they might fall off. The back seat is VERY small. The driver and front passanger have to have their seats all the way forward to make the rear passanger even fit. I dont like the dash because after about a year or two in the arizona heat the entire plastic interior is going to start cracking and falling off. Also if you put your foot into it, the engine seems like it doesnt know what to do.

  • Takes a licking... - 2005 Nissan Sentra

I beat on this car like I hated it since leaving the lot, and it keeps on going-zero problems even after I drive it on dirt roads, lag on my maintenance requirements, and really act like it is a rental car. Takes all my hard abuse and not a peep. Very solid and great MPG (you can guess I dont tiddle toe around with it-foot to the floor 90% of the time)

This is my very first car, got it from a dealership used and with roughly 116,000 miles on it. I had the car for maybe a week and it started giving me trouble when I started it. It could sit for up to 5 or more hours and start fine but if it sat for 1 or 2 hours it would take 2 or 3 tries to get it to start up! Replaced the battery...wasnt it...replaced a battery cable...wasnt it. Finally got the fuel pump replaced...works great every since then! Only down fall was the price..$550 to replace! Other than this, I love the car and is great for a first car, small and rides great! Just make sure you have it looked over by a mechanic before you make your purchase(: hope this helps!

  • Cant wait to get rid of this nightmare! - 2005 Nissan Sentra
    By -

I purchased my 2005 Sentra SE back in 2008, and the best decision I made was to get an extended warranty. Things break on this car that just shouldnt for the age and miles. My head gasket went out at 38K, my motor mounts all went out at 82K. Ive had sensors randomly fail, causing the car to stall on the highway. Overall, Im at the point where Im just expecting it to break again at any time. If I could afford a new car, this thing would be gone in a heartbeat. Its a money pit, pure and simple, and the nightmare doesnt appear to be ending any time soon.

  • I LOVE MY NISSAN - 2005 Nissan Sentra

I love the way my sentra handles. I drive 45 miles to get to work and I LOVE driving it. I am a college student, and I work part-time, and this car is perfect for me. I get great gas mileage. I think it is quite roomy for a compact, and it is comfortable for me to drive. I think for someone whom is 6 feet tall, it may not work as well as it does for me, but regardless I love my sentra!!!!

  • Remote entry problems, Again!!!!! - 2005 Nissan Sentra
    By -

At 30,000 miles the remote entry module went out. Its got just under 50k, and its going out again. The day we bought the car, the passenger front window seal flipped and had to be replaced. The drivers window made a very loud cracking noise when the window was rolled all the way up, and the regulator mount had to be welded to cure this, at 15k, and its starting again. Its only had mobile 1 since new, but quite often suffers from lifter noise. I trust this car very little, and I think the experts agree. Thats what leads to very low resell value. If I could squeeze this car, Id get lemonade.
