Overview & Reviews
The Audio Fanatic package gains a six-disc CD changer this year, and some interior trim has been revised. The 2.5 S model has been dropped.
- Speedy SE-R models, nimble handling, lots of standard features, simple controls.
- Noisy ride, uncomfortable front seats, extremely tight legroom in back, some low-grade interior materials, poor side-impact crash test score.

My 3rd Sentra! - 2006 Nissan Sentra
By Shelly H - November 18 - 1:13 amI bought this car a few months ago, of which had replaced my 1993 Sentra that floated away from flood waters cause by Hurricane Katrina. Compared to my other two Sentras (a 1989, also) this years model is more stylish then the older models Ive had. The car is fun to drive, as it has always been. And is a perfect car for the new driver, because it is just as easy to drive/park as it is fun. Gas milage is still great (right now Im averaging around 27 miles to a gallon), but I find that this year model drinks a bit more gas then the others Ive owned. Also, the ride is a bit looser and the car does tend to sway during hard turns. The seats are finaly more comfortable, but still no leg room.

So many things to fix... - 2006 Nissan Sentra
By meg - October 3 - 7:40 pmIve had my Sentra for about 3 years and put 40k on it. Ive replaced brakes, belts and a fuel pump and need tires. Blind spots are really bad. At 56" my legs hit the steering wheel if I try to drive while wearing any heel higher than 1". Loud road noise, heavy idle, jerks on acceleration.

Wow - 2006 Nissan Sentra
By Jfurton723 - September 30 - 12:33 pmSo I bought this car after having a Cobalt SS. I loved that car and I wish Id have kept it. Ive put a hell of a lot of miles on it in the two years Ive had it, but it hasnt held up to any standard whatsoever. Ive had the a/c system replaced three times, the compressors are pieces of junk. The sub woofer for the Rockford system is made of paper so its extremely easily blown. The standard brake package stinks. Honestly the only reason I got this car is because it was the only Sentra on the lot that had a factory moonroof in it. Oh, and watch out around 70,000 miles the motor mounts just randomly break.

06 Special Edition - 2006 Nissan Sentra
By TNap - September 30 - 11:56 amLeased new in Oct. 06. We bought the car strictly for putting around town. The gas mileage is excellent. We own an F150 and a 92 Lexus SC400 that love gas. So, we didnt buy for speed or sportiness, just for around town. Excellent car and our 5 year old Maxima we traded in was a solid car as well. Go Nissan.

My 2 Nissan Sentra - 2006 Nissan Sentra
By Frank - September 5 - 9:53 pmI own 2 the only thing I do not like is the rockford fosgate system. Speaker went bad on back order (Rear speaker) CD player had to be replaced on my 05 sentra. Speaker was in the 06 sentra. Very fuel efficent car. I get upward of 40 miles per gallon if I keep car under 65 MPH. Car is great and very quiet on road trips suspension just a little stiff but nice car to drive on long trips. I do not like the stereo only problem I have with the cars every thing else is great.

Not what I expected - 2006 Nissan Sentra
By yoan - September 1 - 10:50 amDont spend the money on audio upgrade its not worth it, the speakers sound scratchy and the bass output comes more from the front speakers than the rear subwoofer. The pilasters by the windows rattled when I bought the car. I took it to the dealership had it fixed but left passenger window still rattles a bit. The instrument cluster doesnt seem very high quality. the back seats dont have a lot of room and although the car looks big its about the same size as a mazda protege on the inside. It has limited trunk space. the car does handle real well specially when cornering, sharp turns can be tricky when accelarating because of torque steer.bottom line well powered for the price

Great little head turner! - 2006 Nissan Sentra
By cobra989 - August 27 - 11:00 pmI love this little car, I have owned several different cars and raced professionally and this car is the most race-like experience that I have found for under 25k. I didnt want a Honda/Acura because everyone has one, so the Spec V is the next best choice. I am glad I bought it, never had any regrets w/over 23k on it in 9 months. I have smiled with every mile Ive driven.

My Nissan Sentra - 2006 Nissan Sentra
By Shawn - August 26 - 2:00 amI bought my Sentra in 2005 brand new and I have 113,000 miles on it. It has never started up for me on the first try, have to try over and over. Already had the fuel pump replace 2 years after purchase. Ive had to have the rear shocks and springs replaced after 2 months of purchase. Ive been really good on keeping up with the maintenance on this car. The gas mileage range isnt that great except on really long trips with the A/C off! Sound system is great! The cup holders are in the worst possible spot! I do not like the way my Sentra rides, I can feel every bit of the road. There is no leg room for anyone in the back without the driver and the passengers knees to be in the dashboard.

Six months since purchase of Spec V... - 2006 Nissan Sentra
By Angelo - July 26 - 1:46 pmI have had my Spec V for 6 months. The only time I have had it in the garage was for Oil changes which I gladly perform myself. It is very reliable, I even learned to drive stick with this car and it does not seem to give. My only Mod is a NISMO Cold-Air Intake. It was definatly worth $230. The CAI does also improve gas mileage about 5-10%. The engine is so much louder after I put it on and pushed the gas to the floor. It certainly has more punch. I plan on getting at least exhaust headers and a Cat-back system.

Excellent Car - 2006 Nissan Sentra
By purpleleather - May 24 - 6:23 pmIf any 4 banger I ever owned this is one car that will scare the hell out of the V6 and 8s a run for its money. Just touch the gas and its gone! Code red is the color of my car and there couldnt been a better name for that red and the character of this car. I will have this car for a long time and hope it an experience I will never lose gaining. Nissan dealer is been great and helpful.
