Transmission failed at 24k miles. 4 tires worn out at 20k miles. 4 tires worn out again at 40k miles. Tires need alignment every 5k miles, otherwise will out of alignment by themselves. Will never, ever, buy this car again.

  • Great Van!! - 2000 Toyota Sienna

We purchased our 2000 Sienna about a year ago. It now has 112000 miles on it and runs great! We have not had any major problems, other than replacing brake pads. It drives very good, like a car, and its roomy, the seats are very comfortable. It seems very solid and well built. I dont worry about reliability at all- its a Toyota!! Great gas mileage for something bigger. Very easy to get in and out of with kids ! Very smooth ride. You just cannot beat Toyotas for reliability!!

After much research, I narrowed it down to Odyssey or Sienna. I went with Toyota because it gets better fuel economy. The Sienna is a joy to drive, gets 25mph highway, 17 town. Except when Im towing a boat, of course. :) Total tow weight is 1200 pounds- loaded with boat and camping gear it slows down on hills, but not uncomfortably. Great van, great dealership. I couldnt be more pleased.

Absolutely no complaints. This van has been ultra reliable and durable. Planning on buying another Sienna van within the next 12 months.

  • Good Performer -- beautiful family car. - 2000 Toyota Sienna

Bought it new. Thrilled by its looks at first sight -- Much preferred it to Honda Odysseys appearance. Price difference was negligible between the Honda and the Sienna (Sienna was $200 more) -- the Sienna felt more car-like in handling and ride, was more comfortable for the driver and front passenger, and had better visibility. My biggest gripe about minivans -- make them with rear windows that open? I am claustrophobic, and I wish minivan designers would not make you feel so closed in. Would like a hybrid minivan soon, and if tax rebates are given for hybrids, thatll be what we trade up to.

  • Cute but small! - 2000 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Bought it in 2000, and havent had any problems. Only thing worth mentioning is after shelling out almost 30k, Tires should be something that you wouldnt have to worry about for a while. Well, with 19k on it, had no choice but to remove those yuk Firestones with some Michelins. This also improved the somewhat harsh suspension. Overall, I think the van is great for 4 passengers, but any more where you will need to constantly use the 3rd row seats, forget it, its too small, and the cargo space is ridiculously small. Also, ergonomically has some blind spots, its tough to back up with it. Its a cute looking van, but too small.

  • SIenna after 3+ years - 2000 Toyota Sienna
    By -

I bought the Sienna after two successive mediocreChrysler minivans. I wanted a reliable vehicle, and the Sienna has been a success in that area. Ergonomically, the Sienna is poor at best - not enough adjustment in the tilt wheel and power seat, radio in a poor location, controls on steering wheel in poor locations. The finish work on the leather armrest was poor, and the van continues to have many rattles unless full loaded. In fact, I think Ive just talked myself out of buying it out at the end of the lease.

  • Still going... - 2000 Toyota Sienna

I have used this vehicle for gardening, at the first day I went to plant my vegetables to selling them at the market. I drive right on the dirt road to get to my gardening area. I also drive this van at least once every month between Milwaukee and St. Paul. No major repairs so far.

  • bad transmission - 2000 Toyota Sienna

Had to replace the transmission at 15k and less than two years old. The dealership took two weeks to get the part and then they botched the job so i ended up stranded.
