  The best college car - 2001 Toyota Corolla

  This car is perfect for those who want a reliable & fun car while not paying a huge sticker price. Gets great gas mileage and never gives me with a headache. The engine may be a little weak, but what do you expect from that small a car. While you dont smoke other drivers on the strip, you will definelty burn them at the pumps.

  This car has been fun, fast, and reliable. It is my second Corolla and not my last. I had a Camry for 8 years before that. Toyota is great! In this car, I did not like the smaller trunk size. I have never liked the drink holders right in front of the radio, which made it difficult to pull the glass/cup out quickly in traffic. Other than that, no complaints! I have now driven the 2003 Toyota Corolla for over a month as a rental and I prefer my 2001 overall.

  This is the fifth Corolla Ive owned. Although its the first non-sport model Ive owned, it is still a well-performing car. Fun to drive, great gas mileage, perfect reliability, nice styling. Love this car and would recommend it to anybody else looking for a compact sedan. I would recommend this car over a 2003 Corolla.

  brakes lousy - 2001 Toyota Corolla

  This is a good car, but the brakes are hard. My wife brought back to dealer and they adjusted the rear brakes at a cost of $35. Same problem. I complained that they charged my wife for work that should not have been needed. They would not remove the charge and the brakes still suck. Last week I drove the car and the rear brakes are making clunking sounds now.

  I have had it only a short time but the 5 speed manual really makes it come alive. This car is rated to tow 1500 lbs and a Honda is rated 0. Get better gas mileage than Honda

  The Corolla is the ultimate ride in its class. Its 1.8L engine can get you where you need to be at a surprising rate. It may not a Corvette Z06, but it certainly is ready for ANY task you can give it. Its reliability makes it much better than a girlfriend and its quality both inside and out help surpass it beyond Hondas cheesey interior and whiney engine sounds.

  Had it for 2 years. Compare to the same year civic, civic is much better performer: transmision + handling is way better then toyotas. Well corolla is not a performer, but it gets you from point a to b.

  We bought this car in June 2001 and to date, we have 37,000 miles on it with NO PROBLEMS AT ALL.
