Toyota lost a fanboy. - 2017 Toyota Corolla
By fanboy no more - July 29 - 10:07 pmFirst, there is a lot of things right with this car. Fit and Finish are great, and there are no squeaks or rattles, and the price (with discounts) make it a better deal than a Honda. If everything else after that was just average I would be satisfied, BUT. The transmission is horrible. The CVT works great in snowmobile, but does it belong in a car? The engine is always revving to a high rpm range when you accelerate, and you wait for the transmission to catch up. It is dangerous when you try to pass or merge from an on ramp. This creates a lot of noise in the cabin. I know now why the salesman went with me on the test drive, picked the route (city streets), and never stopped talking. It was so I wouldnt notice how bad the noise or tranny was. I took the car on a 100 mile trip to my parents house and my back hurt and Im young, skinny, and a runner. when you take a test drive leave the salesman at the dealer. If they insist on going along, walk away. Drive onto a highway, try merging with traffic, try to pass, and you wont buy it. The car is so slow and hesitant that it is almost dangerous. I am going to trade this car on a Honda or Nissan next year, take the bath, and never look back . What we need is a law that you can return the car in 48 hours and I bet that a lot of people will.

Front seats are awful - 2017 Toyota Corolla
By MillieT - December 17 - 1:26 amI have only had this car a little over a day. I drive 45-60 minutes one way to work everyday. So a total of 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours a day in my car. If you do any kind of long distance driving, beware, the seats are extremely uncomfortable. There is zero support. Also, hard to get in and out of unless you are young in age and or in great shape. I wish I would have paid more attention before I leased it.

My new Corolla - 2017 Toyota Corolla
By Arthur Dobrin - September 29 - 8:42 pmReally happy with my new Corolla. I replaced my 10 year-old Matrix with this fully-loaded version. So far Im more than happy. If it serves me as well as did my Matrix, I couldnt recommend it too highly.

for wasnt really a fan boy anyway and unsatisfied - 2017 Toyota Corolla
By stephen - May 1 - 12:04 pmits a really nice car, I love driving it, it doesnt accelerate as fast as some of the cars Ive owned but its a 1.8 L 4 cylinder what do you expect? and notfanboy dont cry about the transmission get a manual and for unsatisfied thats a nice novel you wrote but again they do offer a manual 6spd transmission that alleviates the majority of what you dont like about the car. I cant say much about the backseat because I dont sit in it, I know the storage really impressed me for the size, I went to Costco and got two households worth of groceries folded down the back seats and fit everything with room to spare, didnt have to jam anything in and scratch my stuff up or anything. For everyone who is interested in the car its awesome, good mileage, very smooth even into the 100s, handles great and has a ridiculously tight turning radius. Again it was a solid buy.

You Get What You Pay For - 2017 Toyota Corolla
By Jay0893 - November 2 - 12:59 pmFirst time leasing a Toyota. Bottom line: its an economy car. If you travel and have rented cars--it would be the one youd be driving if you the cheapest rate was your no.1 priority. Its...a solid inexpensive car that optimizes features to the extent possible for a car of this price and category. Being brand new--easier to tolerate some of the irritating things that Id expect from cars like this, primarily: extremely noisy above 40-50 MPH. Seats are very basic and stiff--comfort adjustments seem to be a given basic feature in cars today--the corollas would be too--if it was 1980. Decent control panel and ease of Bluetooth. Speakers and sound are terrible--like a cheap speaker bought in a pinch at Walgreens for 5.99. Surprisingly bad. Headlights and safety features are strong. Gas mileage of course is exceptional--you can drive the thing all month in your avg. metro area on one tank of gas. It is a complete sled of a car on acceleration until the engine warms up (in 2017? And with a little car with no weight to it-would have thought a basic feature) Very nice optimization of cargo space --they really do a nice job optimizing. You can fit much more than youd think in this little car. But in the end--its nothing luxurious by way of smooth ride, or comfort beyond normal day to day city driving. Solid. Reasonably priced, bland but decent enough exterior look. Sure the rental companies are all over Corollas, also seems a car youd lease your teenage child as a first car or reliable college car--as buying or leasing brand new is very affordable. My number one irrantant that, had I known at signing, would have been a deal breaker: the noisy ride. Definitely zero in on that in test drive to make sure you can live with it or itll really grate on your nerves.
