Awesome - 2000 Toyota Corolla
By eddie - December 20 - 1:23 amHad it 3 years with no problems. Just a great reliable car. It shakes a little on the highway, but no maintenance on this baby.

Reliable commuter car - 2000 Toyota Corolla
By Dave - September 9 - 2:53 pmNot the flashiest of vehicles, but definately the most reliable car I have driven. I bough my car used with 23k miles on it in 03, and have put about 25k miles a year on it driving between WA and OR states. Not a single problem. Engine power isnt bad, and fuel economy is awesome. I get about 40 mpg on the hwy with my 5 sp manual.

Good little car - 2000 Toyota Corolla
By Delivery - July 22 - 8:26 amThis is a reasonable car to own if you dont want something too big but not too small, as passanger space is quite appropriate. The newer model is even better. Fuel mileage is an obvious advantage (30-40 mpg). The stereo system is more impressive than I thought it would be and the ergonomics are well thought out, although the cup holder is poorly designed. Two really annoying things are the locks and light. You can never turn the lights off unless the engine is off and the car automatically locks even if not in gear.

Disappointed - 2000 Toyota Corolla
By Chris - March 7 - 9:06 amI bought this car new because I have always heard about Toyota dependability. Gas was never 30 mpg as advertised. I have had problems with the oil. Several times, the oil light would not be on but when I checked it or the oil was changed, nothing showed on the stick. I have had the engine checked several times but they did not detect any leak. Finally, someone determined the valve cover gasket was leaking. Now I have had the valve cover gasket changed several times to no avail--I put in oil almost every time I use it. Also inside handles on all 4 doors have broken off. I have owned some pretty old cars, but never had all the door handles break off. I would not buy it again.

Never let me down - 2000 Toyota Corolla
By sylvia713 - December 16 - 1:43 pmI got my 2000 toyota corolla when i was 19 for my first car and i just now (4 years later) got rid of it because it was to small, i have a baby now and the backseat is not very big. Besides the lack of space my corolla was awesome, only thing i ever had to to do was routine maintenance! Awesome first car. If your not worried about space i definitely recommend a corolla cant beat toyota reliability!

I love my corolla! - 2000 Toyota Corolla
By Lee - December 16 - 11:46 amI totaled my new 98 corolla my freshman year of college (I wasnt hurt a bit though). We replaced it with 2000 corolla. I loved both cars. My little white "curla" has lasted me more than I would imagine. I drove it all through college, back and forth to work, and now, 9 years later, I have a carseat for my little boy in there, and commute 150 miles/day. And its still just right for me. I have over 200,000 miles on it, have rear ended someone, hit a deer, and its still tickin. Plus, Im not looking to get rid of it any time soon, and when I do, I just might look at another corolla.

Cheap, Reliable, and Efficient - 2000 Toyota Corolla
By SK - December 2 - 11:53 amNot having a lot of money and needing a reliable and efficient car, I bought the most basic Corolla. I doubt I could have gotten more value for my money from another new car. The car has 57500 miles now, and the only problem I had was burnt-out check engine indicator (promptly fixed by the dealer under the manufacturers warranty). The car handles very well, has very good angles (I can make a U-turn almost anywhere), and can fit into almost any parking spot. It has a decent acceleration (w/ manual transmission) and is comfortable at freeway speeds (passable even at 85-90 mph if needed). It gives me a great gas mileage -- upto 40mpg on the freeway and 27-33 in the city.

I got rid of it! - 2000 Toyota Corolla
By Kana - October 28 - 2:50 pmI purchased Corolla on the basis of staunch quality history. Unfortunately, I got nothing but issues. No Kidding! Here they are: Exhaust manifold flange gasket, all 4 power window motors, rear engine main seal, instrument cluster lights went out, inner tie rod, and huge vibration at 65mph. Yes, the car never got me stuck on the road, but I think Ill stick with other more reliable quality vehicles out there.
