Great Car - 1996 Toyota Corolla
By dogperson11 - June 13 - 10:00 amThis is a great car. It is my first car, and after puting more then 7k miles on it in just 8 months, the only thing I have had to do are oil changes. It has 81k (almost 82k) miles right now, and I hope it goes at least twice that!

Best car I have ever owned - 1996 Toyota Corolla
By Ksblk - December 30 - 2:00 amBest car I have ever owned. Has 234,000 miles on it and still running strong. Never needed any front end work, any engine or transmission work other than normal maintenance. Still has factory exhaust. At 234000 miles it still gets 32 mpg, never needs oil between changes. Has never let me down. Has only been back to the dealer for a timing belt change (preventative maintenance). No squeaks or rattles.

Will it last forever? - 1996 Toyota Corolla
By duster497 - May 8 - 4:33 amI was looking for a cheap, used and reliable car. I found this 1996 Toyota Corolla DX. Its dark green w/tan interior & a spoiler. Its a 5 spd manual, PW/PL/P mirrors, cruise, A/C. Everything works on this car, even the A/c. It has 158,800 miles on it, but it runs like it has 58,000 on it. Its fun to drive, easy to drive and easy to park. A little light at higher speeds, but not bad. Rides ok, a bit rough on bumps. Im averaging 30 MPG around town, a wee bit of highway and A/C use. If you can find a used Corolla in good shape, dont hesitate to buy it!

Great Reliable Car! - 1996 Toyota Corolla
By Jessie - September 28 - 2:46 pmThis has been a great car! I bought the car from my parents right out of high school. The car has been very reliable and gets great fuel mileage. This car has handled well on dirt roads and in town. For the most part I have only done the basic maintenance on the car: tires, oil changes, brakes. For the car having 230,000 miles on it, it has done really well. The only problems I have had are the lights for the air adjustment dont come on consistently and the rear struts just went out on it. I have been very happy with this car and am looking into other Toyota models to replace it.

reliability with economy with quality - 1996 Toyota Corolla
By JODASACA - March 21 - 10:00 amToyota is probably the best car you can buy for the money you spend. I have the 1.8 liter engine in my Corolla. It give me good performance with good economy. My Corolla hardly ever needs anything done to it. It is the most reliable car I have ever owned. It sure beats the American car I previously owned

Great Car - 1996 Toyota Corolla
By Great reliability - February 8 - 5:16 amI got this car from my parents at the start of my freshman year of college (August 2001,it had 47,000). Right now I am a senior and about to graduate in May 05(mileage is 97,100). I have been driving back and forth to college (60 miles round trip) every year except my sophmore year. So far the car has been reliable. It has great fuel economy. The maintanence that I had to do on it was oil changes, tires and brakes. The starter did go out when it was it my parents car and it had only 42,000. I also have a wind noise especially during the summer or rain, but it does not affect anything. I reccomend this car to somebody that looks to save on gas and for something reliable but not expensive.

Practical - 1996 Toyota Corolla
By livingliberty - January 15 - 10:00 amI bought this car with about 100,000 miles and put another 20,000 on myself until I wrecked it this year. This was a car that I could always count on to start. Mechanically, it had very few problems. The struts went out, the interior door handles broke, the radio never worked and the fasteners for the bumper guard came apart so if you drove at high speeds the bumper guard would sometimes come loose. Overall I would reccomend these cars as a good A to B vehicle, but in the future I will never own one again if I can afford something nicer. It was never a joy to drive, handled poorly, no pick-up on acceleration and starts vibrating pretty bad around 70 mph.
