  • Pretty sure Ill never drive another brand again. - 2013 Subaru Impreza

Im a 28 yr old male, combat arms in the Army, who is really into what I call "adventure time." So I wanted something that looked nice, got decent mpg, and could take me where ever I wanted to go. Enter my 2013 Impreza Sport Limited. A treat to myself with my money from the Stan. My ol lady likes to tease me and say it is a station wagon, but meh, I LOVE it. My only two gripes: with the A/C on, it accelerates like a granny on a scooter; and even after almost 11,000 miles Im still getting only 26 mpg mixed driving. I by no means drive like an old person, but I dont have a lead foot either... so Im a little disappointed in that. Other than that, Im a fan for life.

  • Excellent for it intended buyer - 2013 Subaru Impreza

We bought this for for the following reason and so far it has been great at it. - Traction in the snow - Fuel economy - Cargo space - Safety rating - Reliability A lot of people seem to have reliability with the car, so far Ive had no problem, I hope it will stay that way. It prowess in the snow even exceeded my expectation. With a set of Michelin winter tires, it feel like driving in the summer.

Needs more horsepower to drag the AWD system around. Stereo system was so bad I pulled it out after 2 weeks of ownership. Design and quality of the car is above and beyond what I expected in this price range. I have had ZERO problems with my Impreza, the last 4 Toyotas I bought new all had to go back to the dealer for minor problems or recalls, not the little Subaru. Comfortable for long drives and fun on short ones.

  • Strengths and weaknesses what I thought they would be. - 2013 Subaru Impreza

Ive had my first Subaru now for over 22,000 miles. After many years on the west coast, I was not used to the level of snow I experience here in Minnesota, and so when it was time for a new car on a budget I found myself choosing between this Subaru (AWD for the weather, decent MPG, bare bones for the rest) and a Nissan Altima (fun to drive, good creature comforts, same weather limitations as my previous Sentra). After over a year of ownership, Id have to say I got what I expected to get: in city and highway driving in the snow, this is a vast improvement over the sedan I was driving, with reasonable MPG. The interiour is roomy but basic, the creature comforts are poor.

  • Mileage is above advertised! I love it. - 2013 Subaru Impreza

I bought my CVT premium hatchback in December. This is my 4th Subaru impreza but first new car. The best thing about it is the mileage. At first my average MPG seemed low but then I started looking at the instantaneous MPG readout and adjusting my driving style to maximise fuel efficiency. Now at around 5,000 miles I am getting almost EXACTLY the MPG estimated by Subaru, 28 around town, 30 mixed and 36 highway (actually I did get 38 a few time on a long 100 mile drive). The other great thing is the leg room in the rear. I had to drive a rental Ford Fous for a week and my son complained that he had LESS room in the back than in the Subau. Not sure hes right...but still.

  • 2013 Subaru Impreza is a terrible car - 2013 Subaru Impreza

This car has been nothing but a problem. It has a terrible ride, gets poor gas mileage and at 24,400 miles chewed a set of tires right off the car. Subaru has to pay to put a new set on becuse it was under warranty. It has been aligned four time, it has had the steering box adjusted and now the AWD disengages in any slippery condition. Subaru is aware of how this car is running particulary with the AWD malfunctions, but Subaru engineering insists that the car is running to specifications. It is a piece of junk and the worst car purchase I have ever made. I have heard of many problems with the 2013s so buyer beware on this model year they are defective.

  • Good Car except for a few details. - 2013 Subaru Impreza

Have a 13 Limited Sedan, and agree with others here that the Stereo and Tires are two weak spots. Replaced both on mine, along with the speakers, and the car rides quieter and I enjoy my aftermarket Eclipse unit with NAV after using it in my last car and transferring it over to the Subaru. Otherwise, mine is well made and has no rattles after 8,000 miles. The paint is holding up, no stone chips. A/C good, plenty of heat and the heated seats are a nice feature. The leather, while not luxurious, appears very durable.

  • Go anywhere anytime all the time and have fun looking good doing it - 2013 Subaru Impreza

Ok 1k miles so far and my subaru impreza 2.0 sport premium 5 speed has more than any ture real world driver needs. in pouring rain no problem cornering at speed. snow storm no problem. All those pathetic BMW and Benz drivers struggled to gain confidence, while I drove and could feel the vehicles amazing stability, and impressive control. heated seats work better than my acura tsx, its a functional, fun, good looking, family, and weekend warrior, or bachelor go outdoor vehicle. If you want fancy .. its bluetooth, and can get optional nav. big whoop. buy a gps for 100 bucks, and save your dough. brakes are a 9 of 10 . WHEN THE ZOMBIES COME, you will sk yourself.... GOT SUBARU?

  • Good car, but not for what I bought it for (MPG) - 2013 Subaru Impreza
    By -

Overall the car is fine. I really like the interior and the way it handles on flat roads and downhill in the mountains. Its light and fun to drive in these conditions and feels very stable. Downside: Its more underpowered than I expected--even hilly neighborhoods have the engine revving high and loud. AC seems to increase the problem. The nav system is not intuitive--my cell phone app is more user friendly. Speakers are tinny and HD radio is not useful because it keeps fading out--unsure if the problem is the car or HD radio in general. Biggest problem is MPG--have yet to break 25 MPG with 60+% highway driving. Trip computer seems to overestimate actual by about 1.4 MPG.

  • Oil Burner - 2013 Subaru Impreza
    By -

Was excited when we bought our 2012 Impreza Hatchback, BUT...we had the car for 25,000 miles and needed to bring it into the dealership 14 times for a check-oil light. Got the run around from the dealership...oil consumption was normal, they were going to change the brand of oil used, maybe the light was defective to just routinely topping it off. Ended up calling a lemon law lawyer who got me a $2500 settlement from Subaru and then I traded the car with equity on my loan. So, I ended up coming out alright, but I feel sorry for whoever ends up with my car or whoever buys the Impreza new. Dont do it
