Overview & Reviews
The 2.5 RS now has drive-by-wire electronic throttle control and a new four-speed automatic transmission. The dashboard center stack/console has been redesigned with improved cupholders and fancier metallic trim. The 2.5 RS wagon, which boasts the RS sedan's upgraded suspension tuning, alloy wheels and sport seats, has replaced last year's 2.5 TS wagon. The WRX picks up automatic climate control, redesigned alloy wheels and body-color ground effects. Smoke-tinted headlight lenses and revised exterior colors round out the changes.
- A stout 227 horsepower in the WRX, all-wheel-drive grip, a variety of sedans and wagons to choose from, fun to drive.
- Tight rear quarters, limited availability of side airbags.

Perfect WRX Upgrade - 2005 Subaru Impreza
By T-WRX - April 16 - 10:00 amI owned a 2002 WRX, and mildly modified many aspects of it trying to achieve a faster, better handling car. To paraphrase the old fruit drink commercial: "Shoulda bought a STi."

Handles like no other - 2005 Subaru Impreza
By usmm01 - April 5 - 5:43 pmI am a loyal fan of Subaru, our old impreza was a 97 outback sport. This is my first purchase of a turbo. We are pleased with the WRX as usual with handling and fuel economy w/ cruise hwy. 29.5 mpg @ 65- 70mph! City 23mpg. I will own nothing but Subaru.

love it! - 2005 Subaru Impreza
By judith - March 18 - 2:43 amthis is great fun to drive: very sneaky, as it doesnt look like the great little sports car it really is. Handling is absolutely tight at really high speed on questionable roads, the turbo kicking in is a lovely thing indeed. This is the best fun Ive had in several years!

Excellent car - 2005 Subaru Impreza
By Gonz - March 5 - 7:10 amI have owned this car for a year now and put on 15,000 miles. It is easily just as much fun now as when I first bought it, actually more. I started auto crossing it this year with amazing results. The corner steering is pretty pushy but that is about the only negative thing I can think of for the STi and that can be fixed with bigger sway bars and an alignment. The ride is pretty comfortable for a long trip and as long as you are easy with it, it gets good gas mileage for 300HP. Overall I believe it is a wonderful car for the money.

Love My Subaru! - 2005 Subaru Impreza
By Steve Gosselin - February 25 - 5:20 pmI drive 2.5 to 3 hours a day back and forth to work in New England weather. This is my second Subaru and in the 3 years of ownership I have never broken traction in bad weather. I have never felt safer on the road! I love my Subaru!

Was so fun to drive and proven very safe - 2005 Subaru Impreza
By bizarro13 - January 26 - 11:10 amI got my Subie in the end of December and loved it instantly. I admit, I was pretty bad at driving stick, so it took some getting used to, but the car just stuck to the road like it was glued down. The styling is unique. Thats the only way i can put it. The ride is definately choppy though. If you want asmooth ride, look elsewhere. This is a sports car. The car proved very safe as well recently when I hit a car parked onthe highway at around 70 mph. The cabin was untouched. I walked away with nothing but a couple of bruises and a small burn from the airbag. It couldhave been much worse. This is a very fun and safe car!!!

STi Performance with RS Style - 2005 Subaru Impreza
By Pitt Boxer - January 3 - 2:36 amI previously owned an Intrepid with roughly the same MPG, but nowhere close to the responsiveness, handling or acceleration of the Japanese Monster. Prior to purchasing the STi I did a little research on the Evo MR. For the price and resale value, you just cant beat the Subie. Granted the Evo has a slight advantage in most categories, the Impreza is much more fun on a daily basis and as a daily drive. IMO if you are looking for a strictly track car get the MR, if you plan on having a life outside of direct competition, you better bet the STi takes the win. Subaru has an awesome track record, unlike most of its Japanese-American counterparts.

Cool car!!! - 2005 Subaru Impreza
By Turbo!!! - November 17 - 12:43 pmI got this car as a present for my 16th birthday! its coool and i love the stereo. I had to take it to the car dealer one time because the ECU wouldnt let me rev the tachometer pass 4000 rpm! it cost me $243 for labor and parts but thats all good plus Subaru refunded my money because that shouldve been covered by my warranty

Wifes Outback Sport Special Edition - 2005 Subaru Impreza
By 5greyhounds - November 1 - 12:36 amThe ride is very nice for such a short wheelbase, lots of room for the size (two greyhounds fit in the back with the back seat down with no problem). The stereo is very nice and the interior seems to be well made. Overall a good value for the money and a solid car. I miss a sunroof but that will be corrected next year.
