This Year's Model Updates:

The 2.5 RS now has drive-by-wire electronic throttle control and a new four-speed automatic transmission. The dashboard center stack/console has been redesigned with improved cupholders and fancier metallic trim. The 2.5 RS wagon, which boasts the RS sedan's upgraded suspension tuning, alloy wheels and sport seats, has replaced last year's 2.5 TS wagon. The WRX picks up automatic climate control, redesigned alloy wheels and body-color ground effects. Smoke-tinted headlight lenses and revised exterior colors round out the changes.

Pros:
  • A stout 227 horsepower in the WRX, all-wheel-drive grip, a variety of sedans and wagons to choose from, fun to drive.
Cons:
  • Tight rear quarters, limited availability of side airbags.

  • Lots-a-fun - 2005 Subaru Impreza

This is my 7th Subaru. All except the 98 RS coupe got to 200k miles. VERY tossable. Now we have 30k on it and only a few mods. Silencer removal, Prodrive 17s with M3s, K&N, front and rear braces. Future mods on order include braided lines, Hawk HPS pads, front & rear skid-plates from Primitive Racing, and full synthetic Redline conversion. Went playing in 12" of unplowed wet snow for 1.5 hours. Took 4 hrs to get the snow off it. Worth the work! Buy it -Have fun.

  • Another Quality Redsign! - 2005 Subaru Impreza

I have the 05 Impreza 2.5RS Sport Wagon with auto trans. This is the 2.5L non-turbo motor in case you were wondering. It fits my lifestyle perfectly and has room for two quality carseats in the back seat. The redesigned interior is very impressive; trust me, it takes a lot to impress me and Subaru has done a great job changing it up to modernize things. I really dig the new look of the black interior. Good layout for controls, good cupholders. Quiet engine and low slung hood line are perfect for all drivers. I love the height adjustment of the front seats, a very thoughtful touch for 54" wife. And if I may say so, Subarus willingness to make me a great deal on this model, made me jump!

This is the Charles Atlas of Automobiles There are few automobiles that can outperform this small car. And I have as yet to find one. Everyone should try this one before they spend more money for a name.

  • Black STi - 2005 Subaru Impreza

The WRX STi is a great fun to drive car. It has positive handling, with no under/over steer faults(due to the adjustable center diff.) the car has a huge power band with 200hp at only 4000 rpm! and 300 hp at 6000 rpm! the car is faster than many other sedans in the same price range(BMW 325, Audi A4). If your a true car enthusiast, you will love the car.

  • Great Wagon - 2005 Subaru Impreza

Ive have my Impreza RS Wagon since new in 2005 and its always been very reliable in all weather. Mileage is good and it always runs. Ive used it as a truck hauling my hobby stuff and gardening things. The HVAC does not blow cold AC from the lower vents but its no differnt than the 2002 WRX wagon I traded in for this. This cars a keeper for life.

  • my best car so far - 2005 Subaru Impreza
    By -

Im a car enthusiast, and a former owner of two Acura Integras and one Nissan 350z and by far my Impreza WRX has been my best ride, sporty yet practical, fast, not flashy, reliable, and most important fun to drive on a daily basis and to own for that matter.

  • Nice Subby - 2005 Subaru Impreza

Bought the 2005 STI in May of this year. Since then I have noticed only VERY small limitations to the performance of the this car. If you plan on buying an STI, here is what to expect. YES, turbo lag only until you hit the 3000 RPM area; then its a beast. Understeer on tight corners, and vision out the rear view mirror because of the wild foot tall wing, love it! I have to admit coming from all types of American and German vehicles, this car has what it takes to be a real threat to the more exotic cars available and in some cases half the price and to boot economical at the pump! Another little tidbit...youre going to need to invest in floor mats and the better sounding stereo system!

  • The most fun and reliable car I ever own - 2005 Subaru Impreza
    By -

I have driving 7,500 miles and I look forward to every time I get to drive it. Its so much fun even going to the supermarket. On the highway, its pure exhiliaration. I can just cruise or keep it up 5 notches to pass other annoying drivers and other aggresive drivers that like to tailgate me. This car has so much mid- range power that it really suprises me when I have to pass another vehicle. The interior is not as fancy as some of my friends Audi or Infiniti but its good enough for all my needs. Although I see they may some minor changes in the 2005 model that I love to have in my.

  • Awesome car - 2005 Subaru Impreza

I drive this thing very hard and it has held up well (except for the time I crashed into a curb while shredding up the snow). This car rocks when it comes to driving in the snow. It is a fun car. This car handles incredibly well and accelerates quickly with the turbo. The turbo lags a little..
