Overview & Reviews
Subaru completely redesigns the Impreza and brings a high-performance turbocharged WRX variant into the fold to offer enthusiasts the opportunity to drive a powerful, all-wheel-drive sport sedan without breaking the bank. All Imprezas benefit from improvements in performance, refinement and safety. Along with the Impreza's trip upmarket come revised trim levels consisting of two sedans (WRX and 2.5 RS) and three wagons (WRX, Outback Sport and 2.5 TS Sport Wagon). The coupe body style has been dropped.
- A stout 227 horsepower in the WRX, all-wheel drive, a variety of sedans and wagons to choose from.
- No more coupe, extroverted styling may be too much for some.

Superior Product - 2002 Subaru Impreza
By vlord - March 5 - 9:03 amThrough the years Ive put more and more power on this drivetrain. Now at a "Stage 4" by TurboXS standards, Im putting down 270+ HP at the wheels and the car is awesome. Running at 83,000 miles on the ORIGINAL clutch with no slipping. All Ive had to do is routine maintenance at this little car keeps going. I dont think I could ever fathom getting rid of my Scooby as I see it as a to be historic classic. If you dont have one, look no further than the Subaru WRX. You will not be disappointed.

Nice, functional little car - 2002 Subaru Impreza
By xraymike11 - January 2 - 9:23 pmMy wife and I bought this car new, and weve been satisfied with the purchase. We perform routine maintenance, and the car has been quite reliable. After two spinout accidents on black ice, the car still feels extremely solid. I would recommend upgrading to winter tires. The manual transmissions takes some getting used to, but is a pleasure to drive once you master it. The engine isnt necessarily quick, but is adequate for normal driving. Inside, the front seats are comfortable and have great lateral support. Controls are logical and easy to reach. Back seats have enough room to fit adults. We average 26 mpg in normal driving. Maintains great resale value.
