The regular 2012 Subaru Impreza has been completely redesigned. Highlights include a more fuel-efficient engine, updated styling and a roomier and higher-quality interior. Last year's high-performance WRX and STI variants carry over unchanged. The Outback Sport has been discontinued.

By tornado542 - December 18 - 6:16 pmMy 2011 Impreza Outback Sport was bought back by Subaru due to 5 suspension issues in the first year of ownership. Subaru gave me all my money back and paid off my loan so I went and bought a 2012 Impreza Sport Premium. This is everything I loved about the OBS, but with a nicer interior, and better MPG!

Great Car - 2012 Subaru Impreza

I was given the chance to drive the older model of the Impreza and I like the car capability but not the interior. At 62 the new version is way better then the old one. It more refine and controls are well position. I was looking for a fun car to drive that I could rely on for the winter (+ top safety pick). I did a test drive in a middle of a winter storm and it was impressive. The car visibility is great and the car stick to the road like glue even under very strong winds. Great car recommend it to everyone.

By lexcsls - June 28 - 10:49 amFirst of all , its "ALL WHEEL DRIVE" a no brainer for winter driving as well as wet weather handeling (it rains just about everywhere) The build quality is top notch and Ive owned Nissans, Honda and many Toyotas. Whe you drive you feel safe. The car feels lke its heaver than it looks and it handels like a dream. Sure it could use just a little bit more powert but its perfect for you average driver. Gas mileage is outstanding and the car rides smooth and quiet. Its a value being all wheel drive, its economical and well built and you see and feel the quality all around. Buy it and see for yourself and belive me you wont be dissapointed. Test drive it and youll be impressed

I love my Impreza!!!!! - 2012 Subaru Impreza

I found the different in a brand new 2012 Subaru Impreza Premium. So far, it is AMAZING!!!! Ive never been excited about a car, but this Im pinching myself going, "Hey, this really is your car....this isnt a dream." I realize that Im still in the honeymoon phase, but I do plan to update this review in time to point out any problems or issues Ive come across.

New WRX Was Worth the Wait - 2012 Subaru Impreza
By 2012wrxguy - November 30 - 11:25 amI just picked up my 2012 WRX premium 4 door sedan last week. So far, the car exceeds my expectations. Ive wanted a WRX since they came out in 2002, and this one was worth the wait. The updates and body style changes in 2011 are outstanding. My car is dark grey metallic color with black cloth interior and gunmetal grey wheels. The car looks aggressive, tough, and almost sinister. Parked next to a 2012 Impreza (non WRX), the Impreza looks as exciting as a rocking chair.

Big Improvement - 2012 Subaru Impreza
By bng77 - October 14 - 9:13 pmThis car is light years ahead of the previous generation Impreza. It looks better, has a much nicer interior, has more room for both passengers and cargo, and handles much better. The 2nd generation CVT is much smoother and more efficient than the old 4 speed automatic transmission it replaces. I just drove it about 60 miles in a snow storm, and even with the lower resistance tires Subaru has switched to, it handled great. I have been averaging 31 MPG in mixed driving which is right where the EPA says it should be. I was able to coax 35 MPG out of my last tank of gas by driving the car more like you would a Prius i.e., easing up on the gas pedal while cruising letting the CVT do its thing.

Sweet HB - 2012 Subaru Impreza
By kanjii - October 14 - 4:00 amLoved the car when I first test drove it with the CVT tranny, but wanted the 5 speed manual. Very happy with the decision. I love the secure feel of AWD and the car is roomy inside. Stereo was OK when listening to the stations, but much better sounds from CDs and MP3. Exterior is beautiful and the rims are awesome. Engine is good, not a racy type of engine at all. Throttle response is slow, but still fun to drive, especially around curves. The Yokohama tires hold the dry pavement great, but will know soon about the wet and snow.

worth the wait - 2012 Subaru Impreza
By sp201200 - September 5 - 7:34 amsearch included painful dealer drives from brand a-z,decision went to impreza; for gas mi, all wheel drive, and leg room (64" x 230#s) front/back. drive from dealer2home 180mi, 68mph, avg 39.5 mpg. with all the negatives we read on style points and ride, i feel the quality of ride and performance for a sedan (limited w/o bells/whstles) price 21.5K. i did feel the intial leg work was worth it. went online and found the process painless in finding a dealer that would find the car that met our needs, just the limited with leather w/o elctronic bells/whtls. the interior will fit 4adults w/luggage. the 2nd choice was the legacy. it is our first subaru

Mountain moma - 2012 Subaru Impreza
By noku - March 19 - 6:48 pmI have had the marine blue Impreza sport limited with moonroof for 10 days. We have a cabin in the NC mountains and drove up there for the first time last weekend. This car is a blast to drive. I used the paddle-shifters on the CVT to precisely control the power up and down the twisting mountain roads. The car performed beautifully...power when needed, engine-braking when required....excellent overall control. I was leery of the CVT but went with it for mpg....glad I did. The car is very well-built..bodes well for reliabilty...this is my first Subaru but friends tell me theyre bullet-proof. It is good-looking too....IMHO much better than the overstyled Hundai/Ford offerings

AWD at its best - 2012 Subaru Impreza
By nev1998 - January 30 - 12:27 amDrove all the 2wd competitors and even a 35k A3 Quattro and hands Dow the Impreza was top in all things. Yes the A3 had slightly better pickup but this car just handled so much better. This thing is on rails. For anybody looking for a small hatchback this cant be beat and is well worth a look.
