Overview & Reviews
The 2.5 RS now has drive-by-wire electronic throttle control and a new four-speed automatic transmission. The dashboard center stack/console has been redesigned with improved cupholders and fancier metallic trim. The 2.5 RS wagon, which boasts the RS sedan's upgraded suspension tuning, alloy wheels and sport seats, has replaced last year's 2.5 TS wagon. The WRX picks up automatic climate control, redesigned alloy wheels and body-color ground effects. Smoke-tinted headlight lenses and revised exterior colors round out the changes.
- A stout 227 horsepower in the WRX, all-wheel-drive grip, a variety of sedans and wagons to choose from, fun to drive.
- Tight rear quarters, limited availability of side airbags.

My 2004 Subar WRX STI - 2005 Subaru Impreza
By zeroGsti - February 19 - 5:43 pmI love this car! I own a little 92 Honda Civic HB and I tell myself that Im going to drive the Civic to work for commuting but I cant resist driving the WRX because its so much fun. If you like fast cars like me youll love this car. Before making any judgments on this car I suggest you go to your nearest Subaru dealership to test drive it to see for yourself. After that the price doesnt seem so bad.

2005 Subaru WRX STi Sedan - 2005 Subaru Impreza
By Sinister Subaru - February 10 - 1:06 amPros: blistering acceleration, sharp & responsive handling, build quality, seat comfort, tight & precise shifter, excellent brakes, standard equipment level (for this type of vehicle), good a/c & heater, fuel economy (24-25 mpg mixed driving), all wheel drive, excellent price considering overall performance and amenities. Cons: punishing ride on anything but smoothest of roads (jarring, skips, & kicks), poor sounding audio system, extremely short tire-life, poor paint quality, rear seat does not fold down for pass-through.

Great Car - 2005 Subaru Impreza
By Colorado Rural - February 7 - 1:06 pmI commute 60 miles per day and was looking for economy car with a hatchback. I was considering the Toyota Prius, Honda Civic Si Wagon and the Subaru Impreza. I debated the WRX, but the turbo defeated the purpose of gas economy. The 2.5 engine has plenty of power for this little car and it zips along fine. I commute over a mountain pass everyday. I live at 7,000 ft. and used to be white knuckled when driving my old 4x4 truck in the snow. Not the case with the Impreza; handles great in winter weather. After driving it for 7,000 miles, I must say that I have had not one problem with it. ItÂ’s reliable, has great power, handles great, feels safe on the road, and was an excellent choice.

Perfect all around vehicle - 2005 Subaru Impreza
By Justin - February 5 - 10:30 amI did a lot of research before buying my Subaru. I narrowed my choices to a Jeep Liberty, Mazda 3, Toyota Rav4, and the Subaru Impreza. The Impreza won out for a few reasons. I was looking for something that was good in the snow since I live in Minnesota. I was also looking for something that was good on gas, but could also be rugged and haul my camping gear. The Subaru Impreza was the perfect mix of everything I had wanted in a vehicle. It performed extremely well this winter in the snow. The car does better than an SUV for gas, but worse than most small cars. I am getting 23 city, 28hwy. Overall, I couldnt be happier with my decision.

This One Does it All! - 2005 Subaru Impreza
By Peter - January 19 - 10:30 pmAfter 8,000 miles with this car, I still get excited to take this car out every time I start the engine. The performance is great and acceleration is addicting, especially knowing that its a wagon. The standard features are adequate, but the 2006 version has much more, but at the cost of a questionable (borderline ugly) front design. Turbo lag is a real issue; the car is just a notch faster than sluggish below ~3,000 rpms. Unless youre launching at 5,000 rpms, expect a slow start until turbo spools up. You cant get a better car for the price. I would not hesitate to buy this one again.

Great fun to drive - 2005 Subaru Impreza
By devo - December 20 - 5:10 amGreat fun to drive but I have been used to fuel injection so its a bit disappointing to have to wait for the auto gear box to kick down before anything happens. I dont feel confident about being able to accelerate out of trouble or to get between gaps in cars. Otherwise I love the AWD and suspension and will definitely buy another Subaru.

Owning an amazing car. - 2005 Subaru Impreza
By Leonardo Pineda - November 23 - 6:04 pmMy name is Leo , and I have owned my Subaru WRX STI for two years now. This car his given me no problems at all. I am from a small town where it snows a little so people are always struggling with driving in the winter, but with my Subaru the snow was no challenge . The AWD makes it ride really smooth and all 4 seasons. I did not even have to worry about putting chains on my car , for the car would go through it like nothing . Not only are these cars amazing with weather, but they are also really fun ( speed wise ) . My car just got a stage 2 tune with a Cobb v3 accessport and it runs amazing! I have it tuned at 19 psi and can hear te turbo starting to spool as soon as I hit the gas. I have the td04 turbo which is not the best at starting to spool, but once it spools the car pulls really hard. I also have an ERZ downpipe, Cobb v3 accesport, GBF BOV, Perrin cold air intake , mancoo boost gauge , and bigger injectors. I have not had one single problem with my car since I bought it. I got my car for 18 thousand dollars with 96xxx miles, and I can tell you its one hella of a deal that Ive made.
