Overview & Reviews
The Sentra has been completely overhauled for the 2000 model year. A better ride, more powerful engines and a new enviro-friendly version top the bill, and we likes what we sees.
- Powerful engines, SULEV status for CA model, 145-horsepower SE sport version
- Generic styling

ABS Brakes - PLEASE - 2000 Nissan Sentra
By TY - August 12 - 10:00 amYes, I have that chirping noise in the morning before the car is warmed. It started at $11k miles. I thought it was the brand of gas I was using. NOT! Okay, the brakes. The car skids even at 15 to 25 miles. I drive two to three cars back on the highway and streets rain or shine. Its a great car - but it needs a better braking system.

far better than anticipated - 2000 Nissan Sentra
By ion - June 18 - 2:00 am88,000 miles and nary a problem. I love the handling, the speed the growl of the motor. I have outmaneuvered many more powerful and supposedly better handling vehicles with the expectant higher price tag all over the Rockies and the Sierras, as ell as PCH up to Frisco. I have 205s but will change them back to 195s as the difference is only minimal.

Best bang for the buck - 2000 Nissan Sentra
By johnchoi - December 30 - 2:00 amI have over 45K miles on my car and aside from gas and oil changes, no maintenance at all. The car has been bulletproof. I have upgraded with a Cold air intake, Stromung cat back, Hotshot header, and 17" rims and tires. The car flies and is such a blast to drive. I only get around 20- 22mpg but that could be due to my heavy right foot :) For the $16000 that I paid for the car, there is no better car out there. The car is definitely a sporty car and has a firm ride. Those who want a cushy ride should look at the Corolla. Those who want spirited performance are looking in the right place.

2000 Nissan Sentra - 2000 Nissan Sentra
By Paramedic - December 25 - 10:00 amOne of the Best cars I have ever owned. I like it better than our 2000 Maxima. Its easier to get in and out of than the Maxima for some design flaw. Some days I wish I would have purchased the 2.0 model for just a little more pep, but I really have no regrets! Great car!

Ok - 2000 Nissan Sentra
By bobby steels - July 19 - 10:00 amI have had the car for 2 years now, It worked well for almost 1 year. I ended up getting in a fender bender, the dealer fixed it, it never ran the same since. The Brakes have sucked since the beginning, the acceleration is poor, love the dashboard console, radio is poor, overall I liked it for the first year, but began to worry about breaking down just from the way it sounded and the way it ran, made alot of noises. I drive alot and have put 67,000 in the last 2 years on it, all highway miles, I think the car is solid, but not meant for hardcore long distance driving on a consistent basis.

Reliability and Cost Efficent - 2000 Nissan Sentra
By UBR - June 27 - 6:03 amI was given this vehicle at 60,000 from my parents. It is now at 140,070 miles and I must say it has been extreme reliable. I am a college student so like some, I dont bring it in for routine maintenance or bring it for oil changes when I should but It has been treating me well. So far I had to replace one of the coils which didnt go over 200 dollars total and other minor things but all in all. I havent really had to spend much money compared to others to keep this car going. Its quite comfortable inside, GREAT mileage, the brakes work nice, audio system is pretty nice for a standard sound.

By the technician - December 19 - 10:00 amA very good car.50,000 miles and no problems.A little slow off the line with automatic trans but over 60mph it flies.36 mpg highway,no complaints there.cant think of another car in this class I would rather have.I am a mechanic and have seen a lot more problems with Honda and Toyota.I am pleased.
