This Year's Model Updates:

The Pathfinder has been completely redesigned for 2005 and now includes third-row seating and a larger, more powerful V6.

Pros:
  • Most powerful V6 in the class, above average off-road ability, well-laid-out interior, flexible seating design, ample storage space throughout.
Cons:
  • Tight rear-seat accommodations, on-road handling not as refined as car-based competitors, some odd interior materials.

  • not a good start - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

powerful if noisy engine. transmission is silky smooth. drives like a car, no binding, or scrubbing in tight corners. full of rattles, squeaks, vibrations. rear quarter window rattles. lots of plastic shakes over rough roads. i have owned 5 new Nissans in 14 years. never had trouble before.

  • BAD RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

Purchased in 2005 at 110,000 miles the radiator fluid leak into the transmission without any warning nor is it included in the service repair to change. To no end Nissan will not accept responsibility of a faulty radiator design. I am not the first and the last with this same problem. I will never buy another Nissan! Consumer relations stated they will not accept responsibility and states the warranty of their radiators go out at 36,000 miles.

  • Overall Great SUV - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

I comparison shopped with all the other comparable SUVs and this one just stuck out. It has great interior and exterior looks. The engine is wonderful too. You definitely have to get the premium and comfort package. The bose system is great. The only problems I have are of course, the gas mileage, but I wasnt expecting much anyway. The other is fit and finish. My steering wheel spokes are crooked and just not put together well. These are just little things though. I would definitely buy this vehicle. I bought through carsdirect and got it for almost $1,000 under invoice.

Had the Pathfinder for 10 months now and still cant find something we dont like. We went to buy the 4-runner but this just blew it out of the water.

  • Nice Exterior/Poor Quality - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

Ive owned four Nissans in the last five years including a 99.5 Pathfinder SE 4WD, and went out immediately and bought the 2005 new body style when it came out. This SUV has a rugged, great looking exterior. However, the vehicle is plagued with quality issues. The fuel gauge is not working (bad fuel level sending unit). The CD player is not working. The rear driver passenger window is not working. Also, there are gaps in the upholstery where seems are not sewn together properly and foam is pushing through. All of these malfunctions hit right after the 36,000 warranty expired (if you get one, get the extended warranty). Also, dont expect any assistance from Nissan

I fell in love with the Pathfinder the moment I saw it. It is my first SUV and is better than I could have imagined. I especially like all the extras in the interior. Nissan went all out on this one.

  • 2005 Pathfiner LE - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

I have had the new pathfiner for over a month now. I had the 2001 for 4 years. I like the extra power and room from the 2005 and all the luxury features the LE offers. I have no complains so far except for the squeaky brakes when Im in reverse. I will have to take it back to the dealer to inspection.

  • I love my Pathfinder! - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

I bought my Pathfinder after renting one on an eight hour trip to Florida. The look, ride and comfort was amazing. I loved it so much, I had to buy one. I am able to get 22 mpg on the highway and continue to get 17 mpg in the city. The seats are comfortable for me as well as my passengers. I get compliments all the time and am proud to be an owner my Pathfinder. I have not had any problems thus far and I have owned this vehicle for one year.

  • The S.U.V that is self-explanatory. - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

I like this suv. Better than first suv, 1995 honda passport. The interior is comfortable for the family and me. I enjoyed the trip with this vehicle to the poconos, especially with my broth was in the third row slept like a cat. Expect the purrs were snores. I even took my pathfider to atlantic city and came back with just a half tank of gas (200 miles), very well fuel efficient. The honda passport was worse, just getting back needs a full tank & at the same time wasting money. When i drive my pathfinder it doesnt fell boring, but excited. I currently have a GPS & getting lost is fun, especially driving an suv with power and comfort. This is my review & im not saying it is the best one.
