Overview & Reviews
The Pathfinder has been completely redesigned for 2005 and now includes third-row seating and a larger, more powerful V6.
- Most powerful V6 in the class, above average off-road ability, well-laid-out interior, flexible seating design, ample storage space throughout.
- Tight rear-seat accommodations, on-road handling not as refined as car-based competitors, some odd interior materials.

Pathfinder numero dos! - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
By pheb - July 23 - 1:06 pmDrove a 1996 Pathfinder for nine years (180K miles). Nothing wrong with the old one - just wanted something new, and could assist a relative by giving them the old one. I wanted another SUV and thought Id try something different; "new and improved", so to speak. Did lots of research, many test drives, and the 05 Pathfinder won again. Its comfortable, drives tight, and accomodates the combination of long legs and high heels. The new styling is fresh and the combo performance/comfort package makes road trips pleasant. BTW, the 96 is still going strong. I was unable to ignore my personal historical data. I have every expectation that my 05 will provide the same years of reliability.

1st Timer Loves The New Pathfinder! - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
By 1st Timer - July 13 - 5:40 amI love the new 2005 Pathfinder. I considered getting a 2004, but was sure of the 2005 once I drove it. Not that the 2004 is bad, but the 2005 just has more room. I got the LE 4x4 and am amazed every day how great it is. The gas mileage is 17 in town so far, which is not great, but what do you expect when you buy a rugged mid- sized SUV? Maybe automakers will improve the gas mileage some day. Until then, this is decent. Lots of room. Nice leather interior. Excellent safety features, as the LE has the front, side and roof airbags standard. Lots of cargo room in the back. I wanted a SUV that didnt guzzle lots of gas and didnt drive "big". This one fits great.

Would you believe...? - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
By Agent 86 - July 8 - 1:40 pmThis is an excellent upgrade from 98 4runner. I love the power and features. Fuel economy is about what youd expect from an SUV, and the safety features are good (side curtain airbags). I just wish the interior did not have so much plastic. I got the grey interior so I think the plastic is a little more obvious than the beige or brown shade. MY 4 runner has more leather on the inside, and so should this. One other little annoyance...there should be a mute button on the steering wheel. Does anyone know how the speed sensitive volume is suppose to work? the manual says very little about it so I am not sure if mine is not working or not.

Its my third pathfinder and i love them - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
By Connie Ehrke - July 7 - 1:00 amWeve been a Nissan family since 1993 (that was our first Pathfinder) they are so reliable and fun to drive. We just traded in our 2002 for 2005 (we leased) and Im loving it just like the last two! It has the third row of seats (which well probably never use) and they fold down so flat which is great and has more room then our 2002

More than i expected - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
By Jay - June 26 - 2:30 amThe new 2005 pathfinder. i think, is the best redesign of any vehicle I have seen in years. Looks great, handles great, very spacious...of course, being an SUV with 270HP and 4500 lbs, it is pretty mediocre on gas mileage...love to drive it and get alot of looks from passerbys. Get the SE model at the least with Bose stereo, comfort and premium packages...well worth it. Got an incredible end of model year deal as well....

Best SUV out! - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
By Jason - June 21 - 2:00 amWe test drove EVERYTHING! This newly designed Pathfinder blew everything(4- runner, Envoy, Durango, Cherokee, Pilot) and none of them gave us the standard options that came with the Pathfinder for the price. It drives like a car and just had a higher quality feel to it than anything else we drove. Im 63, 230 pounds and this is the most confortable car weve owned.

Excellent SUV - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
By John Springfield - June 2 - 2:46 pmVery enjoyable to drive with plenty of power. Engine and transmission very smooth. If you are used to an 8 cylinder you will notice higher RPM engine noise with the V6 engine during takeoff. Second row seating could use some extra leg room. Overall it is a well built SUV with plenty of room for a midsize.

Great but not perfect - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
By Peter - May 26 - 1:06 pmThe dash could use some work. The pieces dont fit in all flush. Its just doesnt sit in right. Im also not too crazy about the gauges. Pretty boring for a 2005 model. The dash just doesnt stand out. The Gas mileage is not great either. The sticker says 16 city and 21 Highway but I get more like 18 on the highway. Fun truck to drive though. I love the exterior.

just a bigger Xterra - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
By ernie - May 23 - 6:03 pmSO what. It has a third row seat and uses a little more fuel.. same off- road capability, more room and not much more price... the outside difference doesnt appear to be much but the inside room is very obvious
