This Year's Model Updates:

The Pathfinder has been completely redesigned for 2005 and now includes third-row seating and a larger, more powerful V6.

Pros:
  • Most powerful V6 in the class, above average off-road ability, well-laid-out interior, flexible seating design, ample storage space throughout.
Cons:
  • Tight rear-seat accommodations, on-road handling not as refined as car-based competitors, some odd interior materials.

  • Great SUV!! - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

I fell in love with my 2005 Nissan Pathfinder after a test drive. It has great handling and performance. The only negatives are: it does not have running day lights, auto locks, and the third row is kind of tight for an adult. The Bose stereo system is awesome. The premium and comfort packages include the DVD system. Among all other SUVs after a long search and drive tests, without doubt this is the best!!

  • Has Been Excellent, but... - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

We bought our 2005 Pathfinder LE 4x4 automatic new in January of 2006. It has been a great vehicle in every way, including reliability. The MPG has been between 8 off road in 4x4, 12 durring the worst winter driving around town in AWD, to 22 on high speed freeways in 2WD, to 24 on moderate speed county highways in 2WD.

  • Love It So Far - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

I have only had this vehicle for a week, but thus far I am quite pleased. I had driven 3 different vans over the last 10 years and was quite nervous about transferring to a smaller vehicle, but so far so good. I enjoy the get up and go this vehicle has. I know that if I need to get out of the way of something, I have the power to do so. I have always enjoyed driving pickup trucks and the Pathfinder has the same sort of feel. I live in a small community and there are not many Pathfinders around, but the response it has gotten regarding its look has been astounding. My previous vehicles have all been white and my Pathfinder is Storm Gray, which has proven to be a refreshing change.

I have hard car for 1 week.Very Solid build quality. Drivetrain appears very solid. I hope to have similar experience as my Maxima which had unmatched quality and reliability. Only small issue I have is mis- allignmnet on back hatch. Base model very affordable for quality and based on past reliability.

  • Nice SUV, but watch out for BIG problems - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

Bought new, have 67K miles now. No probs til now: the oft-mentioned radiator/transmission issue. $6K to fix. I want to sell the car, but wife effing-ADORES it (I do too, actually ... really nice vehicle ... accelerates like a banshee) so well probably get it fixed if we cant find anything she likes better. Worried about the oft-mentioned tensioner and fuel-sending unit problems since we havent had those yet. This is a really fun SUV to drive, its very comfortable, gets lousy gas mileage in the city (weve gotten 21 on the hwy before, though), but a 5-yr-old car shouldnt be having a $6,000 problem. If it has another, out it goes and Ill never buy another Nissan.

This truck is awesome. I love it, great value and quality is excellent. The ride is very soild, great room on the interior, and the Bose radio is best in class.

Even though this is my first day with my new 2005 pathfinder, this SUV is perfect size, perfect shape. I have the LE and is everything you want in a vehicle, its got power, room for 7, video entertainment system, independent suspension (which makes it way comfortable), 6 CD changer with a BOSE audio system, heated seats, dual temperature control, sunroof, lots of storage, and a little better gas mileage than my previous 2000 Nissan Xterra. I have nothing to envy other SUVs, this is what I wanted Nissan to bring to the market and 7 seater, not so big, afordable, awsome SUV.

  • Glad I waited - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

I did not like the last version of the Pathfinder and was not sure what I would buy next. I have driven Nissans for years and still had an old model (93) Pathfinder in the family. The Armada was more SUV than I wanted, and I looked at the Infiniti FX but did not like the interior. Then Nissan releases the 2005. I bought an LE and was happy to see it came fully loaded. The only real add ons for the LE are Navigation and DVD. I have only had this car a week, but I have not found anything I dislike so far...I am glad I waited

  • Happiness in one Package - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

This is my 2nd Pathfinder, first being an 02. Great SUV! Drove me around in a foot and a half of snow with ease. Amazingly fast with quick pick-up. Dont let the size fool you into thinking it is going to be slow. AWESOME navigation system!! DVD Player is great for the rear passengers as well. Overall I love this truck. In the 02 Pathfinder you were able to roll down the front windows via the remote control for the alarm, now you cant, just wish they still had it work that way but its minor.

  • Total Utility for the Utilitarian - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

I’m a connoisseur of SUV’s, 4 runner, Trooper, Disco and now Pathfinder. Utility is her name: Superior power, nice/tight handling, vicious 4wd and good room for family w/kids. Gas mileage is great for its class, space is optimal and compartments judiciously arranged. Outlets are all around, roof racks, good towing capacity, comfortable suspension, cup holders and running boards are super. Safety is also great (tire pressure reading, weight sensor for airbag turn- off, steel box frame, ABS, etc). Very comprehensive SUV, especially for the utilitarian like myself…
