This Year's Model Updates:

A long overdue 250-horsepower V6 engine debuts for 2001, making Pathfinder the most powerful SUV in its class. An interior freshening and more standard goodies, as well as snazzy options like an in-dash navigation system and an entertainment system for rear-seat occupants, are new for 2001. Also added to the LE's options list this fall is the handy All-mode automatic 4WD system from the Infiniti QX4.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6 engine, car-like interior, good reliability record, rear entertainment system option, available Infiniti All-Mode 4WD on LE models.
Cons:
  • Tight rear seat, high price tag, cheap interior bits.

Finally getting rid of my old 92 SE Patfinder with 148k miles. Loved my Pathfinder and had to stay brand loyal. Bought a used 01 LE and what a difference. The only thing I miss is the 4 wheel disc on the 92. The new one handles very well and I now have power on demand. More cargo room and extra compartments. Also a safer SUV with 4-airbags. Only issue so far is rear windows labor up and down. Needs lube on rubber window runners.

Ive been all over the eastern half of the USA in my Pathfinder and its been great. I didnt get any check engine lights until 150,000 miles. Im fixing the problem and keeping the truck until at least 200k. My Pathfinder is 7 years old and has no rattles and the suspension is still feels like a new car. My next car will be a Pathfinder.

Having never owned A SUV, I did a lot of research. 240 HP, no longer an industry leader but plenty of power. 6 disk in dash Bose with stearing wheel controls!!!! WOW. I keep hearing about how cramped the backsteat is and..OK a little smaller than most but unless you are over 65" 250 lb it is fine. 1 touch up and down windows and sun roof:) You can even roll down the windows with the keyless entry:) This car makes me happy.

WOW! I thought I was buying a great vehicle from what all the reviews said in 2001. I cant believe Nissan hasnt been required to do a recall on this machine. Chronic Mass Airflow Sensor problems, and O2 sensors that crack!?! I had to go back to the mechanic 3 days in a row with different problems each time to pass DEQ tests. If I would have know it would have been so unreliable I would have bought that 84 Ferrari 308 instead. Then I would have expected the problems and had more fun driving it.

I purchased with 33k and Im now at 156k with no major problems. The car runs like the day I purchased and is extremely comfortable. I will say its not great for tall people. All my brothers and my husband are at or over 6 2" and their heads are skimming the roof. My cd player died about 6 mo ago but I still have the tape and radio (and a 2 year old so when do I listen to my own music anyway?). I dont complain about the mileage either. What do you expect for a truck? I will say this: my last long highway trip I did get 20 mpg (for the 2nd time) but usually Im at 17+ around town. Im not sure what Im going to do when I have to buy a replacement!

Bought this 2WD model used. V6 runs like a V8 and drinks fuel like it too. Pretty confortable and roomy too.

I just bought an 01 with only 4800 miles for $24,500! Loaded with leather, sunroof, 6-disc CD, NAV system, DVD entertainment system, Front and Rear Side Airbags, Tow Package, aftermarket roof rack for my skis, bikes and kayaks/canoes. Added an extended warranty to 100K miles. Rides like a Lexus or Acura for $20K less. This is my 3rd Pathfinder. #2 was totaled in a head-on collision at 45 MPH. It saved my life and my wifes, with no injuries!

I bought this Pathfinder on EBAY!!! I have absolutely NO regrets! I love this vehicle! It truly is FUN to drive, and is very responsive to any and all road conditions. This baby ia a great performer. It loves to run, and that will cost you at the gas pump, but if you drive conservatively, which is quite hard to do in this rabbit, the mileage is very respectable.. I got 21mpg driving the PA turnpike on Cruise Control. This is a wonderfully smooth riding SUV that is so tightthat most people who ride in it think it is brand new. The handling and suspension are excellent and the POWER is AWESOME!
