This Year's Model Updates:

Most of the changes to the 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class relate to engine upgrades. Last year's E500 model is gone, and in its place is the 382-horsepower E550. Mercedes' AMG division has also renamed last year's E55 AMG as the E63 AMG in light of its more powerful 507-hp V8 engine. Additionally, there's an improved version of the diesel-fueled E320; called Bluetec, it promises reduced tailpipe emissions. Rounding out the changes are updated front-end styling, the addition of the PreSafe anticipatory safety system (from the S-Class), improved adaptive lighting, a new sport package and a few extra standard features that were previously optional.

Pros:
  • Sleek and dignified design inside and out, pleasing blend of ride and handling, powerful V8 engines, sophisticated safety features, all-wheel drive available on both sedans and wagons.
Cons:
  • More expensive than competitors, confusing control layout, electronically controlled brakes lack progressive feel.

  • Replace Fuel Pump After 7 Years!! - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Smelled gas inside vehicle after filling up, engine light came on, and the smell was extremely overwhelming with gas fumes. I had to roll all windows and sunroof down in 20 degrees weather. Contacted Mercedes Benz Atlanta on Piedmont (all records on file with up keep of vehicle maintenance) to advise. Took car for repaired and I am stuck with a $1400 repair bill. I was told by my service advisor that in 7 years the fuel pump goes out and has to be replaced? REALLY MERCEDES? This is a manufacture defect and the consumer should not be held accountable for something this major. So much for high end top of the line. This is certainly a defect. I want my check Mercedes! You should be a shame!

  • Great Car So Far - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Ive owned my 07 E350 with the no-cost sport option for 30 days and I could not be happier with it. I hope it is reliable. So far so good. I purchased the extended 7 year warranty. My 97 E320 was very unreliable and gave me a lot of problems.

  • Great New Engine ! - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Im no stranger to performance cars, but i must say this new E 320 blutec is more fun to drive than my 06 911. The rush of power and creamy smooth ride low noise decibels, getting almost 40MPG! I was going for a S550 and test drove this E blutec and WOW.

  • love it! - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

So far this car is so much fun. It seems to have tremendous accelerating power and it drives like a dream. It has the sport package and the Conti tires, but it still drives very quietly and feels like total luxury. I just came out of a truck so maybe I just dont notice what the other reviewers are talking about. I chose all black with black birdseye, with premium I, and this car is HOT! So far its great but I dont have a grip on the mpg yet. So far its reading 21 on the display and Ive been doing mixed driving. Hopefully I will see 25+ on the hwy like others have said. I almost went with another brand, glad I chose the E-class Mercedes. Looking forward to seeing the all new 2010.

  • Wow-should have purchased sooner! - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Purchased CPO and it is exactly like brand new and considerably less $ Should have purchased it sooner as it is both sporty and luxurious and looks and drives like three times what I paid for it!

  • Update on Mecedes E-320 BLUETECH - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I recently submitted a review of my new 2007 Bluetech. In this review I stated the problems I was having with the 7 speed transmission. I am happy to tell you that Mercedes has installed new software to eliminate this jerky shifting problem. My local dealer and Mercedes in Germany was involved in this process. It has been a week now since the update and the transmission is now shifting as smooth as silk. In fact, the transmission is shifting much more positive throughout the entire speed range. I think Mecedes and my dealer has done a great job solving this shifting problem and eliminating it. The entire process took about one hour. I thought you like to hear the good news.

  • Poor Quality - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Car died at 90K miles. I have had three Mercedes and all of them have had severe quality issue. Never buying a Mercedes again.

  • Wow! What a car! - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I love driving this car! It feels faster than the Porsche Carrera S Cabriolet I traded in, its infinitely more comfortable and its capable of swallowing massive amounts of miles in a day. Take a road trip in one and youll never want to fly (in the air) again.

  • Worth every penny - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

90,000 miles and still going this is the first car that I have put this many miles on and it still runs and looks new its always a Mercedes and thus not "an old car" excellent mileage and acceleration

  • Are We There Yet - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The 2007 E550 offers many improvements over previous E models: 7 sp trans, 5.5 ltr motor and no electric brakes. I have just completed a trip to LV from OC and MB still needs to work on the air suspension. No setting works well. The AMG E-63 suspension (recalibration of the air suspension and thicker sway bars)which has had great reviews cannot be ordered on the E550, even though the 550 has 382HP? The E550 also comes with R rated M & S tires? The front rotors are cross drilled yet R rated tires? Per the owners manual if speeds over 100mph are anticipated the tires must be over inflated which may cause rough riding around town? If you like the styling drive a 550 BMW.
