This Year's Model Updates:

Most of the changes to the 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class relate to engine upgrades. Last year's E500 model is gone, and in its place is the 382-horsepower E550. Mercedes' AMG division has also renamed last year's E55 AMG as the E63 AMG in light of its more powerful 507-hp V8 engine. Additionally, there's an improved version of the diesel-fueled E320; called Bluetec, it promises reduced tailpipe emissions. Rounding out the changes are updated front-end styling, the addition of the PreSafe anticipatory safety system (from the S-Class), improved adaptive lighting, a new sport package and a few extra standard features that were previously optional.

Pros:
  • Sleek and dignified design inside and out, pleasing blend of ride and handling, powerful V8 engines, sophisticated safety features, all-wheel drive available on both sedans and wagons.
Cons:
  • More expensive than competitors, confusing control layout, electronically controlled brakes lack progressive feel.

  • Nothing better the German engineering! - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I bought a black 07 e350, and its wonderful. It has the sport package and only 21,055 miles on it! It was a lease, but i gotta say, that I will from now on, most likely buy Mercedes. The only "problem" that weve experienced, was the transmission ECU got a glitch, because i was shifting with Touch Shift while in comfort mode for an extended period of time, and i freaked out the tranny, so it went into limp home mode. i put the car in park, turned it off, and started it up again, and it reset itself, and everything has been fine since then. It is a wonderful car, and anyone looking to buy, should get one!

I just took delivery of a CPO 2007 E350 4Matic and love it. Have owned BMW and Audi in the past, but always wanted to own the Gold Standard. Power is surprisingly good for a 3.5 L engine, interior and exterior quality are outstanding. All I can say is there is a reason everybody wants to own a Mercedes. Best decision Ive made in a long, long. time.

Ive owned a BMW, a Lexus, a Corvette, two Subarus, and two prior Mercedes. The Bluetec gets the ribbon. It has a tight, solid, heavy and luxurious feel, but the torquey motor gives it plenty of punch. I feel safe in this car, even at high speed. It has air bags everywhere, and the TeleAid system (similar to OnStar). It has a tight turning radius and is no problem to park. Visibility all around is excellent. And it is not ostentatious to the point that vandals want to mess with it. The automatic tranny does have the annoying and well-known habit of "hunting" between 1st and 2nd briefly when starting out, but Ive learned to ignore it! My friends Audi had the same problem. No biggie to me.

Break dust is too excessive. Windows need to be tinted somewhat. Side mirrors should automaticaly close when car is turned off considering the cost of the car. Back seat is too small. Although there are 3 headrests it really is not comfortable for 3 adults. Headrest adjustments on the passenger seat fails to perform

  • Solid Car - Great Value - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Bought a 07 CPO E350 Sport/ Premium 1, Blk/Blk with 21,000 miles for $31k Aug 09. The car is very solid and well-built - no chassis flex, creaks, or rattles, very stable (runs likes its on railroad tracks - smooth, stable and tracks very straight even at high speeds). Great value for a car with an MSRP of $55k. Acceptable performance; but its no rocket or track-day thrill ride. I also own a 06 BMW 330 w/ sport package - the E350 cant match the 330 in terms of performance but it is certainly a very comfortable, solid, spacious, safe and prestigious (if that sort of thing matters to you)car. Very happy with the purchase, a top-of-the-line Accord will run you about the same money!

  • One great Sedan - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

This was a pick between the C class and E class. I was so impressed at the comfort and design difference, I went with this older car and never felt sorry. It is an awesome car, comfortable, great ride, incredible stereo and all around, ac, lights, seating, just great!, greatly recommend it.

I bought a 2007 E350 with 50,195 miles on it. At 59,000 miles the check engine light came on. Found out the car needed a new manafold because of some small plastic movement flap broke. Also, needed to purchase a Valvle Body Assembly for the transmission. Cost $2,800 dollars. Found out the Engine Light came on at 50,195 miles and a dealer told me that is why they traded the car. He stated any thing over 50,000 miles is out of warranty. I exspected more from Mercedes. It is a simular reason I stoped buying BMWs 30 years ago.

  • Used 07 E350 Sport - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I am a former auto dealer and have owned many vehicles. Shortly after buying this used E350 in Dec 08 - replaced Contis with Michelin Pilot Sports - huge improvement - but dont buy them at the dealership unless money is no object. The E350 Sport handles and performs very well, IMO, for a full-sized sedan. Gas mileage is consistently mid 20s in combined driving.

  • Pushing your luck - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Only the Merc themselves and people who drive their cars know how terrible their cars are. Engineering; dependability; luxury; performance are at its worst compared to Lexus or BMW. Spending a fortune on a car like this is totally not worth it.

  • Luxury feels good - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

In rural CT the roads are slippery in the winter making 4wd a must. After test driving the Acura RL, Audi A6, BMW 540xi, Infiniti M35 awd and Lexus gs350 awd, I decided on the Mercedes E350 4matic. The Japanese have better electronics, the BMW cornered the best, the Audi was attractive and competent, but the Mercedes looked and drove like a true luxury car with 4wd. Its a pleasure to drive.
