Overview & Reviews
Most of the changes to the 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class relate to engine upgrades. Last year's E500 model is gone, and in its place is the 382-horsepower E550. Mercedes' AMG division has also renamed last year's E55 AMG as the E63 AMG in light of its more powerful 507-hp V8 engine. Additionally, there's an improved version of the diesel-fueled E320; called Bluetec, it promises reduced tailpipe emissions. Rounding out the changes are updated front-end styling, the addition of the PreSafe anticipatory safety system (from the S-Class), improved adaptive lighting, a new sport package and a few extra standard features that were previously optional.
- Sleek and dignified design inside and out, pleasing blend of ride and handling, powerful V8 engines, sophisticated safety features, all-wheel drive available on both sedans and wagons.
- More expensive than competitors, confusing control layout, electronically controlled brakes lack progressive feel.

Great Cruiser - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Car Nut - January 5 - 7:26 pmI love cars and the Bluetec is fun to own. Diesel power is amazing, liked the pull/torque better than the 350 gasser. Smooth and quiet. Not a handling machine, but this is a lux cruiser, not a sports car. 7-speed trans is great with the diesels short power band, but its a little jerky when cold. Smaller brakes than the 350 with larger wheels, but same tested stopping distance. Styling is subdued and refined, so Ill like how it looks for the long haul. HK sound system is really good. Nav works well, updates quickly, but a pain to enter addresses.

Tricky cars. - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Omar Diaz Aguilar - December 8 - 12:54 pmParts are very expensive. Check carfax and maintenance records or you will regret buying an used car. Edmunds sucks on costumer service. They never Send me the 100 dollar visa card for using Edmunds. Never replied to my emails or phone calls.

Great Car - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By HN - October 29 - 7:40 pmThis is my first E as well, and I absolutely love this car. It has plenty of room but handles like a smaller car, and the interior and exterior design are perfect. Highway mileage is terrific, but stop and go city mileage is not so terrific, but acceptable. This is an all around great car.

Performance and Enconomy - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Carl Stringer - August 8 - 11:03 pmThis is my first MB and I bought it for reliability, economy and style and it has not let me down. Economy is amazing. I get 26 mpg in town and 28- 30 mpg on my 55 mile commute (at 80- 90mph!). Passing is effortless and silent, it really has quite a good mid- range punch. The 580 mile range is also great, a lot less time is spent at the pump. A 13,000 mile service interval is also a time saver. You can hardly tell that it is a diesel at all. The motor only rattles at low rpm, low speed with the window down. Ive had just one issue, a buzzing speaker which was fixed under warranty. One small gripe is turbo lag, but you learn to drive around it. Buy one!

Why buy anything else - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Andy - June 11 - 1:53 amI have had my Bluetec for a little over a year, tons of power and torque. You could not guess you are driving a diesel. It is fast, quiet, luxurious, and most of all economical, getting 26 mpg around town and 32-34 on the highway. The $1,000 premium for the diesel over the E350 is worth it,( just look at resales between the E320 vs E350) test drove both with little to no difference in performance or comfort. Love the classic understated good looks, the pre-safe technology, and all the other safety features. Once I drove this car I questioned why would I drive any other car in this class ( test drove E350,BMW 528I, Cadillac STS, Infiniti M35, Lexus GS350).

What a car - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Dave J - June 3 - 1:13 pmJust purchased a CPO Bluetec with 24K. Dealer experience was excellent. In two weeks have put on two thousand miles of primarily highway driving between 70 - 76 mph. Average MPG is slightly over 35. Systems are A-1; everything is intuitive. Extremely comfortable and supportive seats in MB Tex. Will check back in after first D service in 8 K miles.

Sweet Luxury - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Docmartin9 - May 5 - 8:43 pmThe engine and transmission are fantastic. The power is smooth, ample and desceptive. The car is so quiet you dont realize how fast you are going untill you look at the speedo. The ride is smooth as silk but a bit detached. BMW550 handles way better but the interior was too plastic and cheap looking for $70K. You also have to deal with the idrive. This is luxury with muscle.

Luxury at its best! - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By atldane - January 26 - 6:38 pmWe bought this CPO E350 for my partner 2 years ago and it has been amazing. Pure luxury! We have a Land Rover, a BMW, and this E350. All different, but the Mercedes is nothing but quality and luxury at its finest. We drive quite a bit, and this car is the most comfortable and smoothest. About to by the new style E class because this one has been a great experience. Our dealer is awesome and the car still seems brand new. This E class has 60k miles on it now, but feels like we just drove it off the showroom floor.

Shame on you Mercedes - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By alcrawjr - October 13 - 4:22 am2007 E350, this is my second Mercedes and my last!! Transmission went into limp mode at 71k miles. Called MB headquarters and was told that there had not been enough reports of this issue for MB to recall. Hard to believe because its being reported all over the net. The local MB certified mechanic says he cant get the repair part because MB has a lock on them. I see 1980 models driving all over, but 2006-2014 are not even making it to 70k. I was told that the speed sensor fails around 52k miles. Where is the QUALITY ??? The car is DOA in the driveway while I drive my Jaguar... Go figure
