This Year's Model Updates:

Toyota has expanded the Tundra's body style variety by adding a new StepSide model. Its distinctive styling includes flared rear wheel arches and special tail lamps. If you want to make the StepSide even sportier, there is a new sport suspension package available. All 2003 Toyota Tundras have a restyled front fascia, standard antilock brakes and a center console similar to the one found in the Sequoia SUV. For the top-line Limited trim, Toyota has added a power sliding rear window.

Pros:
  • Silky V8, Toyota build quality and reliability, less-than-full-size maneuverability.
Cons:
  • Lacks wide range of choice offered by domestics, somewhat uncomfortable front seats, meager rear cab room on Access Cab, chintzy interior trimmings.

Smooth, quiet, powerfull and great fuel mileage. Rear seat is very uncomfortable, seat back is straight up. Great tow vehicle, plenty of power and brakes well.

I just bought this used with 22,000 miles and am amazed at what a fine vehicle it is. Did have a Tacoma with 145000 miles prior to this truck and expect this will be drivable for a long, long time. Thanks Toyota.

Looks like the Tundra needed some help to off-set the obvious biased, false ratings ftom the disatified American Brand owners. Notice I send American Brand, but the truck is probably not american made. Where is the tundra made? INDIANA!

  • best truck - 2003 Toyota Tundra

I am an engineer and I reserched all the trucks and read at least 20 differnt articals. The tundra comeout on top for what I and about 90% of truck buyers use it for. I do some heavy hauling and have towed 2 trucks with it with no problems. This truck has great power and a great ride. (This is the best truck out there)

  • Its all good - 2003 Toyota Tundra

Ive driven many full sized trucks and for the money, this one beats them all. This truck has the smoothest ride even with the offroad package Ive experienced in a full size. The one thing that I would change is the room in the back, other than that, Ive found this truck to have plenty of power and great handling. The style fits a younger image than Chevy and the torque is higher than Ford (in a comparable truck.) I would definitely recommend this truck for those wanting power, reliability and style.

I bought the Tundra as an extra to have a vehicle to lug stuff, if I need to. I looked at GM,Ford and Dodge, and after a (very) short test drive in the Tundra - the others were no longer in the running. Comfort and quietness, smoothness, handling...all great. No problems other than the dealer not installing the bedliner correctly, so it was not under the rails. Sometimes I wish I had spent the $2k more and gotten the Limited with leather and more features.

  • Nice Tundra - 2003 Toyota Tundra

Excellent power and acceleration. Highway mileage is around 19 MPG. Captains chairs are very comfortable. Easy to drive long distances (400 miles per day). Very good ride, even with the off-road package. Negatives: With automatic, difficult to shift into 4LO -- button takes several tries. One dash light doesnt work. Steering wheel isnt centered. Quality control isnt as good as Honda.

  • Car like truck - 2003 Toyota Tundra

I dont really like trucks of any kind as they all handle poorly and waste gas. However, as a Fabricator/Designer I need a truck to pick-up materials and deliver the finished product. I have owned this truck for almost two years with no problems of any kind. It has never failed to perform even when loaded to capacity. The V-6 engine isnt fast but it is strong and steady. The truck has a car-like smoothness and quiet ride that rivals many cars Ive driven. It handles good and better than any other truck Ive driven. Fit and finish are very good and the truck is just the right size to take into urban areas; easy to park and maneuver.

  • Fun but not cozy ... - 2003 Toyota Tundra

Fun to drive ... Easy to shift ... great visuals ... good [speed] pick up, good brakes ... Wonderful gas mileage & reliability ... Basically, the vehicle really does not have any flaws -- precise, exact & reliable.

  • Great Truck! - 2003 Toyota Tundra

The new stepside bed and tail light design gives a great distinctive look making it stand out from the crowd. I love the power and the ride is smooth. Gas mileage not bad for a 4.7 V8. Sticker price may be a little high, but with rebates and a willingness to deal there are some good deals out there.
