  • Ford F150 Owner switched to Toyota Tundra -Mixed - 2018 Toyota Tundra

I have owned 6 Ford F150s and my last 2, a 2007 and a 2017 really lacked quality and they spent a lot of time getting serviced. I was able to Lemon Law my 2017 F150, and made the switch to a Toyota Tundra. I purchased a 2018 Tundra Limited 4x4 with the TRD Off-Road package. Compared to my Lariat, it does lack some of the conveniences like tailgate step, auto-locking tailgate, remote start, LED lighting when unlocking, BLISS, etc. I know I could get some of this with other packages or add-ons...My biggest issue is the safety stuff on the 2018. The adaptive cruise control is too safe...putting too much distance between you and the car in front...the Lane Departure Assistance is irritating...sensitivity can be turned down, but not off. The backup camera isnt partnered with a sensor so no audible alert (my be a config Im not seeing)...MOST irritating is that Id like to add some accessories and modify my truck. The PCS sensor/radar is apparently impacted by any type of bull bar, leveling or lifting - per Toyota. Im seeing on Forums where these have been done, and you get mixed messages by service advisors. I wish I knew this before purchasing as I would not have purchased this truck. Now that Im stuck with it, its just OK.

  • traded in my Silverado - 2018 Tundra owner - 2018 Toyota Tundra

traded in my Silverado and glad i did. Tundra Limited rides more like a truck- which i like - seat is very firm initially but is softening up. Rides higher which i like for better visibility in traffic. better turning radius. lots of electronics (almost too many) and not marked clearly - will learn them in time. No "shark fin" on the roof!!! Nice looking truck and hopefully it will be dependable. Handling on snow packed roads is worse than Silverado - needs more weight in the back. The pickup bed (not counting wheel wells) is actually quite a bit wider. Have not met any Tundra owners who have anything bad to say about their trucks. What I dont like - Can only start with a smart key (for security) which is great until you need another key (very pricey)

  • Finally did it! - 2018 Toyota Tundra

After sitting on the fence for a couple of years, I traded in my 11 Tacoma on a new 2018 Tundra. Im not going to say I wish I had done it sooner, as I liked my Tacoma, but the increase in size and comfort is great! Gas mileage, not so great, but I work from home, so it doesnt kill me. It looks great in the garage, sitting next to my 1977 FJ40 Landcruiser. Toyota all the way!

  • Shop around before buying a Tundra - 2018 Toyota Tundra

I have a 2018 Tundra Limited. The Limited is an SR5 with few upgrades, not really a step up. Slipped on the running boards when they were wet, oh that hurt. Toyota does not tell the consumer that the new technology needs to be updated by the dealer, but no warning as to when the update is needed. Navigation sucks, have to use a Garmin which is much more accurate. All trucks have a handle to assist getting into the drivers side of the truck except Tundra. I have owned 12 new Toyota vehicles, I will shop around before I buy another Tundra. The 2018 Tundra Limited is not equal to my 2007 Tundra Limited Tundra Limited. took the truck to the dealer several times, the cannot get the navigation or blue tooth to work better than marginal. SHOP AROUND BEFORE PURCHASING.
