  • Tough to beat - 2005 Toyota Tacoma

I purchased this truck for a work vehicle, I pull trailers, tow tractors, and in general work it like a big dog. It is tough to beat, and I practically have moved my office into the truck, the elec outlet in the bed has been a blessing. Toyota outdid themselves on this!

It isnt a compact truck anymore the 05 has gotten a little larger it has a real aggressive look to it, it runs and drives like a car the v6 has lots of powerand gets decent mileage I have been averaging about 19-20 mpg with trafic, should do beter on the open highway . I was going to get a 2004 but drove them both and with 60 more horsepower it is a wolrd of difference, I got the prerunner with the sport package so it has all of the color keyed door handles and mirrors and I got it in Speedway Blue, a truly awsome color I get a lot of compliments on the truck.

Former full size truck owner that likes the quick steering, easy parking exceptional ride, performance of the V6, 4.0L and outstanding styling. A high clearance truck to take to the dirt roads, hauling gear or a fancy resturant with family and friends. I reviewed a number of mid-and full-size trucks and like the sporty styling, large space in the back seat of the Double Cab as well as extra storate under and behind the seat. I like the composite bed and tie-downs with optional bed divider and net to keep objects from sliding around. I have nerf bar steps for my 53" wife. And, installed a trailer hitch.

  • Great Truck no perfect 2005 - 2005 Toyota Tacoma

At 80,000 miles after towing a car on a dolly 1500 miles one universal joint went out. Replaced all 3. Replaced one wheel barring (so far). Cab fan motor went out, replaced, then fan motor connector failed due to heat. Replaced connector with GM part, exactly the same only less expensive. Rear leaf springs are weak, not much weight in bed and spring bumpers are almost on the axle. In cab navigation and temp indicator failed. Poor factory solder job on components, I re soldered and is still working fine. Mesh style seat material stains easily and is hard to clean. At 148K still looking good.

  • Finally, a truck I love - 2005 Toyota Tacoma

Picked up the 4x2 doublecab with TRD#2 package, and I cant say enough good things about it. The ride is very smooth, and bears little resemblance to the ride on the 04 models. Responsiveness is very good, and handles like a dream. Most use will be on freeways in town, with the occasional foray onto forest roads or across the family farm to hunt.

  • Best truck for the Money - 2005 Toyota Tacoma

The ride is good for a truck, The seats could have a little more cushion. The engine downshifts all the time in the mountains, but that I can live with. I averaged 21 to 25 mpg on a recent trip this weekend, fully loaded with kids and dog. So far so good! Toyota does make the best in my opinon, and does really have the best resale, that is if you resell it. Toyota has plenty of room inside, and is a blast to drive. GO FOR IT!

05 Double Cab S/B 4X4 V6 5Speed Auto, SR5 with trailer towing, limited slip Nice truck, much better interior room (I fit!!) I’m 6’6” and a bit fluffy, plenty of power, but smooth and quiet. I’ve only had my truck for about 1.5 weeks, but I’m impressed. The new 5 speed transmission was built for this V6 and economy. In town the engine is turning 1,200-1,700 RPM getting around 18 MPG. On the road @77 MPH / 20,6 MPG, @ 63 / 23.6 MPG. At 70 the engine is only turning 2K The ride is a little stiff (its a truck ya know) but comfortable, quiet on the road. I compared Dakota, Canyon/Colorado and Tacoma, The Taco won hands down for value, fit and finish

  • Woman who loves her Tacoma! - 2005 Toyota Tacoma

I purchased my certified used Tacoma in October 06 after a Denver snowstorm left me unable to exit my driveway w/my current car. Ive wanted one of these trucks since I was 15 (Im 41 now). Its been the best decision I ever made (besides divorcing my husband!). This truck handles so well, has so much power and is so fun to drive, I only wish Id bought one sooner! Gas mileage isnt bad either. I really am a woman who loves her Tacoma!

  • The perfect vehicle? - 2005 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

I have owned 8 cars and trucks in the last 5 years searching for the perfect vehicle. I am confident I have found it. I am a financial planner and a real estate investor. Further, I just had a son - making safety a real concern. This truck serves well in all capacities. The look of the truck is tough yet sophisticated enough to be proud pulling up to clients offices. I can drive four grown men around town comfortably. The interior (front driver and passenger primarily) is comfortable and well thought out. When I am working on rental houses, the long bed allows room for tools, trash-outs, etc. The towing capacity is excellent.Ideal for weekend camping trips. 18/22mpg. Perfect vehicle? Great work, Toyota!
