• Flexible and refined drivetrains, excellent off-road ability, 18 different body configurations, available stability control, solid build quality and reliability record, well-trimmed interior, unique bed features.

• Manual gearbox still vague through the gears, awkward emergency brake.

  This is the first Toyota truck that I have owned. It is comfortable and handles very well. The gas mileage is not quite up to specs, however I have only 3,000 miles on vehicle and it seems to be improving more with each tank of gas. It gives a lot more interior room that previous prerunners that I have driven and a more comfortable ride.

  I speak from experience. Owned 86 SR5 22RET 4x4 (300K+), 91 SR5 4x4 (200K+), 96 T100 4x4, 96 4runner Limited, 95 Tacoma 4x4 (75K), 96 Tacoma 4x4 (75K). 99 Toy 4x4 Ext Cab (100K) As you can see I spent many a miles behind the wheel of a Toyota truck. Bought my 2005 to tow a 22 boat. Already after year and half put 30K miles on it. By far the best looking all around driveable Toyota truck I have ever owned. Towing and overall drivability is above all others. Long-distance HWY trips are now a dream. Reliability is always A+. The only thing I have to do with this truck is change the oil and air filter. See below for my few negative comments.

  This is the best truck on the road. Hands down. And talk about ahead-turner...this beast of a truck has all of my friends jealous. What a killer truck!!

  Only put 200 miles on the truck so far but had loads of fun doing it. I opted for the TRD Offroad Package and have had a great time running over and thru anything I can find. It has everything you can want - the power, looks, performance, and driveability!

  I put a tool box on the truck but that make very bad road noise. The 6 cyl. will move the truck faster than the Chevrolet Z71 with the small V8 and the milage is somewhat better.

  I love the new dash, the new bed is really nice, no need to buy a bed liner. Im already getting 17 mpg city driving, it can only get better. Warms up in the matter of minutes. Cant lock my keys in it, the doors wont lock with the key in the ignition. I love it, rides really smooth. Feels like Im in a car.

  I love this truck. My family and I can ride comfortably. I have 2 kids ages 1 and 2 so I have 2 car seats and my wife and I have plenty of room. It gets great gas mileage to be such a big truck. I drive 75 - 150 miles a day so that is very important to me. Im getting 20 miles to the gallon. It is extremely comfortable ride. I dont think I will ever get rid of this truck.
