Front-seat side airbags and two-row side curtain airbags are standard on every 2007 Toyota RAV4. Additionally, the optional JBL audio system now comes with steering-wheel-mounted controls and Bluetooth connectivity.

Pros:
  • Impressive power and economy from optional V6, balanced ride and handling, roomy second row, low cargo bay floor, tight construction.
Cons:
  • Interior has budget feel, cockpit a tight fit for tall drivers, side-hinged rear gate impedes curbside loading.

  • Love my RAV4 - 2007 Toyota RAV4

Bought my car 2 weeks ago and I couldnt be more happy. It is fun to drive, has great visability, smooth, smooth brakes, unbelievable pickup with the V-6, and great looks too! I also test drove the Honda CR-V and while it has nice looks this year it doesnt offer a V-6 or bluetooth which I have found to be a must buy if you can afford them. I look forward to many fun years of driving this great car.

  • A Rav4 Cant Start - 2007 Toyota RAV4
    By -

I have owned many Toyota (4Runner, Camry) - this is the third one and the last one - quality control has been an issue for my Rav4. There were quite a lot squeeze noise on the plastic part in the interior even when its brand new. Spent some time to fix them. Now second year - the vehicle wont be able to start every 5 to 7 days. Its not battery for sure. It could be security system, starter, spark -- dealers (yes, I tried two Toyota dealers) wont fix it because they cant duplicate the error so they cant fix it. Oh, by the way, the audio system display started to not show anything, or strange Japanese characters. If you press the panel really hard - it fixes the problem.

Ok... I am here to tell the truth about the gas milage on this car. I have 7000 miles on my V6 4x4. I get the exact mileage posted. In order to get the milage that Toyota says... you cant "gun it" at every light and you cant speed!! I promis you on this. I love the car. If you ride mountain bikes... its perfect. The levers on both sides make the rear seats go down in no time. Dont get the 4cyl. It was quite a bit louder than the 6. Spend the money to get the 6. Its pretty much the same mpg but 100 more horses. All in all... Very much worth it!

  • Can embarras some coupes. - 2007 Toyota RAV4

The RAV 4 V6 is a pocket rocket. Its power is so tempting to use everytime. I can stand my own even against some coupes.

  • A Great Little SUV - 2007 Toyota RAV4
    By -

I bought the RAV4 because I was looking for a SUV that could fit my dogs, carry stuff for the house, have 4WD for the snow and still get great gas mileage and my little coupe just wasnt cutting it anymore. I was looking at the CR-V and Highlander at first and wound up test-driving the RAV4. I was sold! It has all the room I could possibly need, handles like my little sporty coupe, has great pick-up for a 4 cylinder, gets mileage similar to a 4 cyl car and lots of awesome little extras like dual-zone climate control, storage space under the trunk, moonroof and alarm system. The dealership was a pleasure to deal with and I was glad to give them my business.

  • Teenage Driver - 2007 Toyota RAV4

I love this car. My uncle gave it to me after he no longer needed it. I drive it to school and basketball games and everything. I love the commanding view and it is relatively easy to park. Its a stylish and fun SUV and my friends always complement the interior (dashboard). I This car is very very dependable and I will use it in college and probably forever!

  • Generally good choice for teenage driver - 2007 Toyota RAV4

This review written after 10,000 miles and almost 1 year ownership: We have a 17-year old so the goal was to find a small SUV which offered all modern safety features in a reliable package. Naturally Toyota & Honda were the top 2 choices and Honda had not yet come out with the new CRV in Feb 2006. We chose the 4-cylinder to avoid overpowering the car and are happy with it. Also avoided the optional 3rd seat to limit temptation to carry too many passengers. Visibility is good for the driver, the mileage is genuinely 26 mpg on highway at 65, and overall a year later still seems like best choice at time, but now that Honda has released new CRV I would recommend testing that as well.

  • Paint chipping since day of purchase - 2007 Toyota RAV4
    By -

I have always wanted a toyota and this was my 1st experience. Love all features except the 4WD feature auto turns off once you hit 25 mph. Biggest concern is paint chipping off the hood. Looks like air bubbles that have popped. 1st noticed within 30 days brought back to dealer and all they said was go to a body shop not their problem. Never had this with any other vehicle I have owned. The pain on bumper is fine but now their are pinholes showing rust all over the hood and chips the size of pencil tops . Car has less than 40K miles on it and is rarely driven on dirt/gravel roads. Who can i contact to address this issue, it is obviously a mfg defect.

  • I Love This Car! - 2007 Toyota RAV4

I bought this car after visiting the dealership 3 times. After test driving the Nissan Rogue, Honda CVR, Mazda3 & 2008 Highlander, I decided this was the best choice for me, my 1st Toyota! Ive owned 3 Mazdas, 1 Nissan, 1 BMW, 1 MBZ, 1 Subaru (I know, Im a car junkie!). I am also very impressed with Toyotas track record & the fact that my car is 100% Japanese. I have owned it all of 24 hrs and have no regrets. The gas mileage seems ok so far, the car is cute as a button. Drives with a touch of sport suspension. Seats are fine with me so far, no long distance drives yet. I am very happy with my purchase!

  • Great vehicle with some reliability issues - 2007 Toyota RAV4
    By -

Bought it new in 2007, I have around 50,000 miles on it now. Im getting my 3rd transmission put in. The original failed at 25k with a cracked output shaft, and the 2nd one is whining constantly due to a poorly honed final drive gear. The steering shafts pop under stress, and the rear diff makes an odd THUNK when shifting into Drive from reverse. Im on my 3rd set of tires, and Ive already had to replace the front pads and rotors. Having said that, its an awesome vehicle in the snow. Great power from the V6, plenty of room for 4. Just wish it had held up better.
