Pros:
  • Impressive power and economy from optional V6, balanced ride and handling, roomy second row, low cargo bay floor, tight construction.
Cons:
  • Interior has budget feel, cockpit a tight fit for tall drivers, side-hinged rear gate impedes curbside loading.

  • Wife loves it - 2007 Toyota RAV4

I am handicapped and wife does all the driving. She loves everything about it! She just finds it fun and the least tiring of our other toyotas (four 6 cyl Camrys) We are on our 4th Toyota (I used to drive) and this is the best ever. It drives better with a full load, 4-5 people. The only thing I added is a wind/bug deflector.

  • Missing my RAV4 - 2007 Toyota RAV4

In 2008, we needed to refresh our cars. I always like the look of the 2008 CR-V so I bought one. My wife really love it so she claimed it. Well, I was jealous but didnt want 2 CR-V on the driveway so I bought a 2007 RAV-4 instead. I must say, I love driving the RAV-4 better, I find it more solid, reliable and fun to drive. I didnt notice the difference in gas mileage between our 4 cyl CR-V to our V6 RAV-4. Recently we moved to a high-end neighborhood where everyone drives BMW, Lexus, MB, so we decided to get rid of both vehicles and buy me a RX350 and my wife a GX470. The only reason I am here is to vent how much I miss my RAV-4 with its "fun" qualities. OH the V6 POWER!

  • 2007 Toyota RAV4 Limited - 2007 Toyota RAV4

Bought a leftover 2007 LTD,4 cyl, 4WD in Classic Silver I have only owned it for about 2 weeks and about 200 miles, but I am impressed! The interior is extremely comfortable, the ride is smooth, there are no rattles or squeaks (even doing 75 on the highway), and even this 4-cyl. merges with traffic and gets up hills w/o problems. I like that the door swings out rather than up. At less than 5 tall, I can reach it! I like the fact that the door swings out to face the wrong side of the curb. I park in my driveway and the open part of the back faces my walkway to the house. Perfect.

  • Very uncomfortable seats! - 2007 Toyota RAV4
    By -

The RAV4 Limited V6 rides well, has good power, and in most ways is a great SUV. But the front seats are AWFUL. Very, very uncomfortable for both my wife and me (53" and 6). Very disappointing. Previously has a CRV and the seats were comfortable for short and long trips. Great SUV but I dont know how long we can keep it since we drive 20k+ miles per year.

  • Perfect Fit for years to come - 2007 Toyota RAV4

I sold my V6 99 Accord to help finance the 07 RAV4 and so far so good. Its as near perfect in terms of optioning as I could find, and the utility it offers is second to none. The interior layout is classic toyota and controls are placed in harmony where youd want them to be. Outside styling is always personal, but I love looking at it even after the honeymoon period is over. Rear door is a blessing and a curse, but when picking up a plasma TV last week my mothers 06 Ford Escape could not hold it b/c of the rear liftgage setup. The RAV4s swing door allowed more vertical clearance. Also, love the spare on back to allow for more cargo space even at expense of the "look."

  • Nice - 2007 Toyota RAV4
    By -

I bought this SUV for my family last year (wife & 1 yr old son). The style played an important role in the decision. We took it in a few road trips and were very happy with the general performance. Nice handling, lots of power (even for a 4 cyl engine) great traction on snowy roads and good stereo system with iPod/MP3 capability. The cargo area is pretty generous with under floor storage. On the other side the throttle feels a little too sensitive, specially when taking off and the tranny tends to have a delayed reaction when slowing down and pulling into a driveway or parking lot (I am not sure but this could be an issue just with my car; I havent had it checked yet).

  • Great SUV. - 2007 Toyota RAV4

I have just been driving this RAV4 2007 for one months and I love it. It is fun to drive. Smooth and quick acceleration. Smooth ride though a bit more shake on flat roads than my Camry. Gas milage is lower than expected 21mpg. only 19MPG in my first 2 tanks (mostly city plus some highway). This make the small gas tank (only 15.9 gal) more inconvenient. I have to fill gas every 200 miles.

  • Flint mica rav 4 - 2007 Toyota RAV4
    By -

I have a 2007 v6 auto Rav 4. Color is Flint Mica. Great style great color. I have had it for 4 months and 5600 miles. Great SUV to drive. Transmission is not as smooth as my Titan. Seats could be a little more comfortable. The only thing that bothers me is the mysterious humming sound it makes. Its not the fan kicking on. The dealership could not duplicate.

  • Smooth Hwy, Little Rough Local Part 2 - 2007 Toyota RAV4
    By -

Follow up to my 4/12/08 review. Hesitation when accelerating is a torque steer issue. The front wheel drive cant handle the massive horsepower. Changed oil and tried premium gas to no avail. This engine is meant for 4WD & not really for FWD. Changed my local driving habits for this vehicle, cannot punch it from a start or at slower speeds & step on it when its moving faster. Edmunds has an article, "Long-Term Test: 2006 Toyota RAV4" that goes into detail about this acceleration issue with FWD. Wished it came out sooner. Well probably spend a few more bucks & get into the luxury segment next time. One thing I do know, this engine is sound and should last for a very long time.
