Front-seat side airbags and two-row side curtain airbags are standard on every 2007 Toyota RAV4. Additionally, the optional JBL audio system now comes with steering-wheel-mounted controls and Bluetooth connectivity.

Pros:
  • Impressive power and economy from optional V6, balanced ride and handling, roomy second row, low cargo bay floor, tight construction.
Cons:
  • Interior has budget feel, cockpit a tight fit for tall drivers, side-hinged rear gate impedes curbside loading.

  • Steering shaft problem - 2007 Toyota RAV4

Beware of intermediate steering shaft problem with not only Rav4s but apparently other Toyotas as well. Do your research before buying. My rav4 is not 3 years old and mostly highway mileage but over 36k. Told by Toyota servicing dealer that the intermediate steering should be replaced at a cost of $1600. There is a tsb "Toyota service bulletin" for this problem but apparently since Im over the 36k mileage (even tho car is less than 3 years old), Im on my own. If Toyota steps up to cover this, Im a customer for life. If not, this is my last Toyota. So much for quality.

  • A Terrible SUV - 2007 Toyota RAV4

I didnt have much time to cross-shop, so I just followed public opinion before I picked my RAV4. It was completely a disaster. Fuel economy is nowhere close to the EPA number. The engine made so bothering noise and finally stalled. I just put this car on sale and hope somebody just buys it quickly.

Great engine, same used in some Lexus vehicles. Very fast acceleration great handleding for an SUV. Nice fuel economy, mine still breaking in so Im not getting sticker yet. It does 0-60 6.3s which pretty much leaves most cars in the dust. It has lots of room, even with a child seat in the middle of the rear seats. I Like the tints. Nice sport rims. Nice ride, not rough.

Generally, Im very happy with it. A road trip to Boothbay, Maine with my brother and pregnant sister-in-law was extremely comfortable for all involved. I drove the entire way there and was quite comfortable. Gas mileage is a little disappointing; not as good as advertised. Engine power is awesome. Rides and handles very well. Downright sporty (I used to drive a lowered GTI). Inside, the stereo is above average, though not great. Great in the snow-belt.

  • Not perfect, but close enough - 2007 Toyota RAV4

The four-cylinder engine, which I tested in a RAV4 Sport, is pretty peppy, but the V6 boasts about a hundred extra horses, for an eat-my-dust total of 269. That six-cylinder is a sinful delight, as it turn the RAV4 into a veritable pocket rocket by pushing it from zero to 60 in under seven seconds. Driving the RAV4 is a pleasure. The view is excellent. Steering is precise and responsive, and the brake seems to read your mind. Cabin noise, even at 75-plus mph, is well under control. All the gauges and knobs are pretty much where you’d expect to find them. The cargo space is impressive — bigger than that of a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

  • Amazing Vehicle - 2007 Toyota RAV4

I am totally and completely satisfied with my V6 2WD RAV4 Limited. It has an amazing pickup that will put many sports cars/coupes to shame. Although it is a compact SUV it is very comfortable and very spacious and has an excellent ride quality. I would highly recommend to buy the V6 because there is a difference of only 2 MPG between the V4 and V6. My RAV4 easily gives 21 mpg in city and around 28 mpg on highway.

  • 18-Month Review - 2007 Toyota RAV4

Im coming up on 15000 miles, love this SUV. Drove from NoVa to NC beaches (10 hours) with 4 adults, 2 dogs, luggage, boogie boards, beach chairs, etc., plenty of room, everyone comfy the whole trip. Temp over 100 degrees, had no problems with AC. I like the side-hinged rear door; when installing the cargo carrier on the roof rack, I was able to stand on the rear deck and install the back end of the carrier, also the carrier could stick out further than the back of the car and we could still open the rear door. This SUV is so much fun to drive, it handles beautifully, its powerful, I still love driving it after almost 18 months. Only maintenance so far: oil changes.
