This Year's Model Updates:

A new 3.5-liter V6 replaces the previous 3.0-liter unit. Larger 17-inch wheels and tires are now standard on the V6 AWD model and optional on the front-wheel-drive version. Antilock brakes are standard on all V6 models. The interior has been upgraded to reduce noise and now incorporates metallic and leather trim. The front seats now have seatbelt pre-tensioners and dual-stage front airbags. New entertainment choices include MP3-compatible CD players, satellite radio and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system (late availability).

Pros:
  • Strong V6, large doors ease entry/exit, spacious cabin, comfortable ride, excellent crash test scores, good fuel economy.
Cons:
  • Bland interior, low-grade plastics, inconsistent build quality, noisy four-cylinder, vague steering.

  • a great car - 2004 Saturn VUE

i am amazed at how great this car is, no problems at all. go to the dealer for oil changes and tire rotations only.

  • Red Line Vue the Way to Go! - 2004 Saturn VUE

This car is very peppy. The Red Line styling is very sharp, with its 18" wheels, lower suspension and chrome tailpipe. Its fun to drive, and very roomy for a smaller SUV. Quite sporty for a Saturn.

  • Not good - 2004 Saturn VUE

A fast little SUV for the expressway. I bought this VUE for the Honda engine that does exactly what its supposed to do for power and economy. Thats where the fun ends with the Saturn. The VUE is definitely inferior to any import Ive owned for build quality . I am shocked at what a noisy rattle trap this VUE is. My VUE is becoming a regular at the service department for weird problems. Im surprised that GM is making a cheap rattle trap like this. I am sorry i didnt buy a "real" Honda. This car is a crackerbox. The road noise inside the car is disgusting at highway speeds.

  • First New 2004 Vue Review! - 2004 Saturn VUE

This is a great car and fun to drive. We decided on this after 2 months of serious anal (Engineer) searching. We were looking for 1-2 year old used… Started with the Trailblazer but- too hard to get into and too pricey. The next was a Pathfinder but not that many to search from. We “stumbled” upon the Vue and after looking at a used one. We love this car’s performance, value and looks and are so glad to stay in the GM (Saturn) family.

  • LOVE THAT SATURN - 2004 Saturn VUE
    By -

Having driven various models from several manufacturers I settled on the SATURN. The bang for the buck is very good. 250 HP a five speed automatic that is really smooth and quiet. I think the seats could be abit larger but the overall comfort and fun to drive factors are very high. Everything worked right out of the box and the sales/service experience is terrific.

  • Good Car - 2004 Saturn VUE

I think this is a good car for the money. The v6 is definitly the way to go, great power, and very quiet. Ive been getting just over 20 mpg which is important with 2$/ gal gas.The interior size is great. Much better than competitors.

  • Outstanding - 2004 Saturn VUE

We bought this Vue used w/12,000 miles on ot. It was an executives car. Its made three trips to the southeast from Iowa and never a single problem. We did replace the mud tires with street tires in 06. Being retired we average about 8,000 per year So far we havent spent a dime on repairs outside normal maintenance. I used Mobil 1 oil and filter exclusively and put a K&N air filter on it. Oil changes once per year. Never burns a drop of oil. My only complaint is that it is noisy inside but weve learned to live with it.

  • What A Difference from 2003 - 2004 Saturn VUE
    By -

I traded in my 2003 VUE for the new 2004, and am amazed at the changes made in a single model year. Its like a whole new vehicle. The car really likes to go! The ride is quieter with better road feel, though the car seems a tiny bit more reluctant to turn (tighter steering).

  • Great SUV for the price - 2004 Saturn VUE
    By -

Ive owned this SUV for 15 months. The power and performance is awesome. For what you get for the price, it cant be beat.

  • No More Saturn - 2004 Saturn VUE
    By -

This is my second Saturn and the last. The car has been nothing but funky off the wall problems since it was six months old. Fortunately I followed my gut instinct and bought extended warranty that will be up in two months just in time to unload the Vue for my new 09 Honda. Saturn started out with a good product that has went horribly wrong and for the record I will not buy American made vehicle ever again.
