This Year's Model Updates:

A new 3.5-liter V6 replaces the previous 3.0-liter unit. Larger 17-inch wheels and tires are now standard on the V6 AWD model and optional on the front-wheel-drive version. Antilock brakes are standard on all V6 models. The interior has been upgraded to reduce noise and now incorporates metallic and leather trim. The front seats now have seatbelt pre-tensioners and dual-stage front airbags. New entertainment choices include MP3-compatible CD players, satellite radio and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system (late availability).

Pros:
  • Strong V6, large doors ease entry/exit, spacious cabin, comfortable ride, excellent crash test scores, good fuel economy.
Cons:
  • Bland interior, low-grade plastics, inconsistent build quality, noisy four-cylinder, vague steering.

Nice thought to lure with the Honda engine and tranny. Too bad the rest of the vehicle is so poorly constructed. Issues with front end suspension components, rear end drive components and electronic interface (BCM and ECM). It is too small for 4 people and luggage. Small for a +6ft driver. The 250HP V-6 is really peppy but at 40,000 miles and +20 trips to the dealer under waranty this vehicle is history!

  • 2004 VUE AWD V6 - 2004 Saturn VUE

We do a lot of serious off-roading. We took our new VUE out to some dry washes and on some mild loose dirt roads in the mountains where we drive our Jeep Wrangler and atvs. The VUE performed well. While no serious four- wheeler, the AWD performed flawlessly and as long as you watch the ground clearance, this vehecle will take you to some places you wouldnt think possible. I wouldnt take it into running water or mud, but for hard packed sand, and dirt roads, steep or not, the VUE really surprized us.

  • Very Good so far - 2004 Saturn VUE

We traded off our 1998 Chevrolet Blazer for this new Vue. The Vue handles far better on the icy roads than the Blazer ever did. The zip that the Vue has also far exceeds that of the Blazer. Shortly after getting our view we took a long trip. The Vue was extremely comfortable and pleasant to drive the entire trip. The Vue climbed hills like they were not even hills and we went for a scenic drive into the mountains to test it too. We wish the glass panel on the rear opened like the Blazers did, as that made getting into that area much easier. That is the only drawback so far.

The Vue is by far the best value in the midsize SUV category!

  • Another great Saturn! - 2004 Saturn VUE

This is our 3rd Saturn and as with each one we have yet to be disappointed in any aspect, performance, quality, reliability, etc... The VUE handles very well even in the worst winter weather. Its fun to drive!!! Its roominess and comfort make for pleasant road trips.

My first Saturn was a 1995 brand new SL and I go great gas milage. Traded in for a new 1997 SL2 and traded that in for a 2001 L200. Just got the new V^ Vue and like the other cars it rides great and I havent had a lick of trouble with it. WOW what power with the 3.5 V6 250 horse power!

  • what sloppy stearing. - 2004 Saturn VUE

I,m not sure who was complaining about the sloppy stearing, but they must be use to driving a 1970 Ford truck without power strearing. So far my wife and I are extremely pleased.

  • Still Impressed - 2004 Saturn VUE

We bought our Saturn in 04 after trading in our Saturn L200 after our son was born. We needed the extra room and right away we knew wed made the right decision. We have hauled a fish pond with complete accesories, 2x4s, pipes, cabinets, my grandfather clock, not to mention the trips to the grocery! Its been amazing that we can all four fit in the vehicle along with our purchases and still be comfortable. We also took this vehicle on a road trip recently and were amazed at the 30+ miles to the gallon highway. Weve had no issues with faulty equipment and so far have yet to have a complaint with the truck other than louder than normal road noise when traveling on the interstate.

  • I love my VUE - 2004 Saturn VUE

I purchased my VUE brand new in 2003, and I have been more than pleased with it ever since. The interior is very comfortable. The leather seats are soft but firm. The interior space is great, instrument panel and gauges arranged almost perfectly. The factory sound system is amazing, and the overall ride is very good. This was a great choice, and I am considering getting another one.
