Overview & Reviews
The 2002 Nissan Pathfinder receives only minor refinements. These include a new front grille, steering wheel and a revised audio system with new faceplate and faster functioning in-dash six-disc CD changer. The SE trim, now the base Pathfinder since the XE has been dropped, features a new titanium-accented step rail and roof rack with integrated air dam, body-color bumpers and fender flares, new 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and new seat cloth. Not to be outdone, the luxurious LE has 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels as standard equipment this year.
- Powerful V6 engine, car-like interior, solid reliability record, rear entertainment system option, available Infiniti All-Mode 4WD on LE models.
- Tight rear accommodations, high price tag, hard-to-fold rear seats.

Luxury, Style, and Reliability - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By seb93760 - November 21 - 2:00 amThis is the second Nissan Pathfinder LE 4WD and it is every bit as reliable as my previous model (99 LE 4WD) but with more power. The Pathfinder has all of the luxury items of many other expensive SUVs at a much better price tag. We have not had any malfunctions with the vehicle and the only maintenance that we have had is scheduled. This is identical to our last Pathfinder. If you want an SUV that looks like an SUV (not like many of these new ones that look like mini- vans) but also rides like a car, the Nissan Pathfinder is an excellent choice.

Carlike drive/Truck like look - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By Booosh - November 2 - 10:00 amJust recently purchased the vehicle. Compared it against the Toyota 4Runner and Highlander. No comparison in my mind. You get more for your money with the Pathfinder, and especially in the month of April; Nissan is offering 3.9% financing plus $1000 cash back. Best deal Ive seen in years. Got both the POP and Sunroof pkgs and when it was all said in done I only paid $250 above invoice. Those two packages in other makes/models would run the price from $2000-$3000 more than a Pathfinder. I love it, you will too.

The 2 Gs, Good Looking&Gas Guzzler - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By Joel2002 - October 28 - 10:00 amFolks, this vehicle is everything everyone claims it to be, no wonder its the Editors choice. I test drove several of its competitors and for my money this is your best midsize SUV on the market today. In fact, my wife loves this vehicle so much she wont drive her car SO now Im going to have to buy another one for me. Give this one a look!!!

Its an "OK" SUV - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By Piggy - October 19 - 10:00 amPurchased this vehicle used. The cd player stopped working after 6 mos. The dealer wants to charge $500 for a new player. The drive is smooth, only on a smooth road; otherwise, when we hit a bump it feels like im about to be thrown out of the vehicle. Passenger leg-room is limited. Very convient to have the radio controls on the steering wheel, bcuz the radio is hard to reach while driving. Good cargo space when the seats are folded down. The SUV is very durable, and stylish.

Great Vehicle - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By PS766643 - October 15 - 2:00 amI bought this vehicle with 900 miles on it and now have 11,200 miles. Im getting 19.6 mpg driving to and from work at 45 mph and 21.7 mpg on the highway at 65 mph. The ride is quiet and smooth on good roads and not bone- jarring on rough roads. The BOSE stereo system is awesome! This was the only SUV available in the LE version without leather seats. Living in a hot climate where we wear shorts a lot, I didnt want leather, but wanted the other ammenities. The vehicle could easily tow more than the rated 5,000 pounds, Nissan needs to rate it for what is is capable of doing.

Pathfinders for life - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By BossMan - September 16 - 2:00 amMy first SUV experience has been a excellent one thanks to my Pathfinder. Good feel and feedback on the road as long as tires are properly balanced. Great cabin appointments including leather. Front seat could be a tad larger for my liking. No problems with rear seat fold down as suggested by Edmunds; and rear seat has ample room. Love the Bose stereo too. Rear springs could be a little stiffer for carrying loads.
