Overview & Reviews
The 2002 Nissan Pathfinder receives only minor refinements. These include a new front grille, steering wheel and a revised audio system with new faceplate and faster functioning in-dash six-disc CD changer. The SE trim, now the base Pathfinder since the XE has been dropped, features a new titanium-accented step rail and roof rack with integrated air dam, body-color bumpers and fender flares, new 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and new seat cloth. Not to be outdone, the luxurious LE has 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels as standard equipment this year.
- Powerful V6 engine, car-like interior, solid reliability record, rear entertainment system option, available Infiniti All-Mode 4WD on LE models.
- Tight rear accommodations, high price tag, hard-to-fold rear seats.

This vehicle is awesome...... - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By alankc1 - July 16 - 1:23 pmI dont think Ive ever owned a vehicle that I love more than this one. It has all the options, other than leather, (but who needs leather, hah) and Ive installed a satellite radio system.....For the money, you cant go wrong.

Nice SUV!! - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By WhoaFella - July 4 - 2:00 amFun to drive. It has a solid feel, quick acceleration, comfortable interior (especially for me being 61"), and plenty of creature comforts.

I love it! - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By firemt27 - June 26 - 10:00 amBought my 02 Le 4/04. I love it!!! The price was right. WAY more power than the S/C Xterra and the 2000 and older Pathfinders. Every option I could want, rides nice for a SUV. Luxurious fit and finish for a reasonable price. Nissan quality is great.

All-around best SUV I have driven - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By Thalodian - May 22 - 2:00 amBefore purchasing my Pathfinder, I drove several of the top brands and found them all lacking in one way or another. The Pathfinder combines car-like ride and handling with class-leading power in a luxurious package. The only down-side is the fuel economy, which is a trade-off for having 250 HP under the hood.

A great knockaround vehicle - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By BOU962 - March 18 - 3:26 pmLove this SUV. A smooth ride that could induce car-sickness, a powerful engine, and conveniently-placed and thought-out controls make the car a gem. With regular all-season tires, holds the road in ice and snow, and stops on a dime if youre not driving like a drunken banshee. While 4WD can be taxing on tires, the Bridgestones wore out much too quickly - and were vulnerable to shoulder wear despite frequent rotation and balancing. Depending on driver height and seat position, blind spots (merging, etc.) can be a problem - encourage all your family members to test-drive before you buy.

GREAT SUV - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By BP - February 21 - 10:00 amLove the Pathfinder! Has all the bells and whistles you could want. Great power, good towing capacity. Super comfortable. Love the Nissan quality after suffering through 6 miserable years with a Chevy Blazer that had nothing but problems.

Just bought it - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By bfallingstar - February 16 - 10:00 amThe interior options sold us. Excellent sound system and leather interior. Very well thought out displays. Very powerful 6 cylinder engine. Larger body than I expected, but still manageable. Not much price negotiation, (I guess its popular enough that the dealer doesnt have to negotiate much.)

2002 Pathfinder LE Blows the Others Away - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By dkh1020 - January 10 - 10:00 amI just picked up my 2002 Pathfinder LE 2WD this weekend and couldnt be more pleased. After driving a 1999 Pathfinder LE for three years, I decided to shop the competition & nothing compared. The Pathfinder is clearly a superior product at a bargain price. The fit, finish, build quality and reliability are second to none. Interior materials and design are first rate. The cabin is comfortable and quiet while the ride quality rivals some sedans. The 240 hp 3.5 liter engine is exceptional and makes driving the SUV a blast. The six disc in dash Bose unit is phenomenal. Nissan has done a great job keeping an aging design fresh while continually improving the product.
