This Year's Model Updates:

The 2002 Nissan Pathfinder receives only minor refinements. These include a new front grille, steering wheel and a revised audio system with new faceplate and faster functioning in-dash six-disc CD changer. The SE trim, now the base Pathfinder since the XE has been dropped, features a new titanium-accented step rail and roof rack with integrated air dam, body-color bumpers and fender flares, new 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and new seat cloth. Not to be outdone, the luxurious LE has 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels as standard equipment this year.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6 engine, car-like interior, solid reliability record, rear entertainment system option, available Infiniti All-Mode 4WD on LE models.
Cons:
  • Tight rear accommodations, high price tag, hard-to-fold rear seats.

I have the super black with charcoal interior. It handles great in adverse weather conditions. The All Mode 4 wheel drive works great. The ride is very smooth with a great feel of the road. The engine is very responsive.

I love my new Pathfinder! Nothing bad to say about it yet - except someone couldve taught me how to get the gas cap off before I was stuck in a gas station about to cry...

Prior to the PAthfinder, I had 2 Maximas after owning two Camrys. I never thought much about Nissan, yet I found my first Maxima to be as good as Toyota and Honda. I longed for a more pwerful Pathfinder and they finally made one. The Acura MDX was my first choice but I couldnt justify the exter $9k. After almost 2 years (I have 2001 model)I feel totally vindicated. This is a great, dependable, smooth driving truck with storage for my 4 some and our clubs.

I test drove most of the SUVs - nothing came close. No wonder it was named $wheeler of the year by 4wheeler magazine. I t performs great in bad roads and great for off roading! Oh - it has a fantastic 6 disc CD player with front CD loading system - I dont think I have seen it with other manufacturers!

  • The best of the best - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder

Traded my lousy ML320 for a new Pathfinder and love it. This is the best SUV out there and for the price. Ive looked at them all, and the only comparison would be a BMW X5. Save the money on an Infiniti and consider the Pathfinder. Same thing.

  • Love my PATHY - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder

Went with the Pathfinder for numerous reasons. Specifically- the reliability, resale value, looks, features, price and safety rating. Trailblazer-- yeah more power, but cheaply made-- Forerunner- yeah higher ground clearance, but overpriced and everyone has one. Price --got a Loaded LE with a few extra options for 31,9- thanks to edmonds online dealer invoicing. SAfety -- got numerous high ratings in many areas Resale value-- Have you looked in the paper for used Pathfinders? Very few and far between- b/c their owners love them so much.
