This Year's Model Updates:

The new model year brings freshened exterior styling to the C-Class. A new dash, redesigned seats and tweaked trim pieces help to polish the interior up a bit, as well. A new audio system with six speakers and a CD player is standard across the board. Further updates include an improved short-throw six-speed manual transmission and revised suspension tuning. A DVD-based navigation system is newly available, while the C320 wagon has been discontinued. The complimentary scheduled maintenance program has been dropped for 2005.

Pros:
  • State-of-the-art safety and luxury features, three body styles to choose from, pleasing power from top V6 engine.
Cons:
  • More expensive than competitors, ordinary cabin furnishings, small backseat.

This car is an absolute blast. It blows the C240 away. If you are looking for something that is reasonably quick yet cheap, this is your car. However, maintenance is quite expensive. Just went through the first oil change, $65! The thing requires Mobil 1 SuperSyn 0W- 40 and there are only a couple of places you can buy that. Approximate cost is $7.50 a quart. Other than that, enjoy.

The style of this baby benz is AWESOME! I have a black interior, black exterior 2005 C240. I bought it on 7/27/04.It shines like a jewel!I also bought a vanity plate for the front. It cost $85 extra-it is black with a silver benz symbol & a silver frame. I love driving this car! I get LOTS of compliments, and there are many great features to brag about. Rear window shade, 6 CD changer, wood trim, rain sensor, retractable sunroof, the list goes on & on. I bought every available warranty that was offered on this car -tire warranty, windshield warranty, paint, interior & exterior finish warranty, GAP insurance, extended warranties - the works, its worth the extra cost.

  • Great car if you can keep tires on it. - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I bought this car when it came off a dealer lease. It has been a pleasure to drive and gets great gas mileage 26- 30mpg. It is stylish and easy to navigate the controls. The only downside I have seen is replacing the tires every 10,000 miles. It doesnt matter if you put Michelen or Kumho, you get the same results. I have had it aligned and the mechanic says this is an issue with all Mercedes and BMW. You sacrifice comfort and cornering for tires. The brake dust is horrible, you constantly have to clean your wheels.

  • Awesome Car-Mercedes C320 4-Matic 05 - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I had driven this car for over 10,000 miles now and this car is fun to drive, responsive and best of all, I get about 24 miles per gallon. On rainy days, I felt that I am much more in control with the 4-Matic and would get another Mercedes for my next car.

I bought this car because it was the only stick shift they had on the lot. I have not been disappointed. The ride is excellent, and it is simply fun to drive. It gets incredible gas mileage (compared to the Trailblazer I traded). I am looking forward to purchasing one for my wife when it is time to trade her car.

  • A fun to drive fuel efficient hatch - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Wanted to share with everyone my experience with the 2005 C230 coupe. Bought the car when it had 17000 miles from a Nissan dealer. So far have put 11000 more miles. No problems at all. Best of all the fuel economy on the car is superb. I usually get 300-320 miles out of a tank combined city/highway driving. And I live in NYC. That should say a lot. Car has great handling, not very fast, but I think its because I have an auto, not a stick. Nonetheless for someone who wants a Benz that is compact, problem- free and fun to drive I really recommend the car. One other feature I like is that it comes from factory with a sport exhaust. Has that nice low sound when you accelerate. Thank you

  • My second C230 - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Ive been a Mercedes Benz driver since my 19th birthday. My first was a white/black 2003 c230 Kompressor 1.8L. I loved this car so I was hesitant to buy another car, and refused to buy anything other than another Mercedes. My black/black sedan is quite comparable. When I first got it I often had to remind myself that I was driving a new car (as the interiors of the kompressor coupe and sedan are essentially identical). I sprung for the leather this time, but chose xenons instead of seat heaters. The xenons are ridiculously bright. love them.
