Overview & Reviews
The new model year brings freshened exterior styling to the C-Class. A new dash, redesigned seats and tweaked trim pieces help to polish the interior up a bit, as well. A new audio system with six speakers and a CD player is standard across the board. Further updates include an improved short-throw six-speed manual transmission and revised suspension tuning. A DVD-based navigation system is newly available, while the C320 wagon has been discontinued. The complimentary scheduled maintenance program has been dropped for 2005.

Great drive, great price, thin quality - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
By Fridgemon - January 26 - 4:03 amIn August 2004 I got a 2005 230 Kompressor after last having a MB 11 years ago (300E)--wow have they gotten fun. Its red, fast and really fun. Interior is well done. Exterior is as sporty as anything on the road. Technology is first class. But its got warranty issues: console lid broke, paint is chipping and the CD player just ate my AC/DC CD! Dealership has been good though. For a guy in his 50s, I cant imagine anything Id rather have for my daily driver.

My MNV - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
By Lizjam - January 20 - 10:00 amThis is my second mercedes and I have enjoyed them for the past 11 years. I have a C320 4matic. I love the way it handles in inclement weather. It is just the right size for me.

Almost there - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
By nice! - January 11 - 6:33 amI kept going back to the MB dealership to stare at it. Almost bought the 2006 BMW 3, which is frankly a better car. But the 230k just looked so great in Mars red, I couldnt resist. And while it has been the head- turner I thought it would be, ther are some issues. The paint chips very easily. The trunk lid has a wide gap and looks not fully closed at all times. The cruise control fob is badly located, and I keep trying to use it as for directional signal. The radio difficult to read in sunlight. The powerseats are sub standard. It already needs to have some work done on window insulation. Its slightly underpowered. All that being said, Id buy it again. Sexy outside, sleek inside and a relatively good value.

Sport Sedan Dreams - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
By Chip - January 9 - 3:23 pmIf you are looking for a true sports sedan, do not buy this vehicle. It will leave you feeling disappointed. This car has spent more time at the dealership than my garage, and left my wife and I with a total lack of confidence in Mercedes-Benz. I will never purchase another product from them!

first but not the last - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
By michael - January 9 - 1:13 amI test drove the 325 BMW and thought it was the car for me. The C230 has more style, more sex appeal, and has alot more bells and whistles than a 325 of the same price range. The engine pulls with gobs of torque, quick response steering and is built to last. It is my first Mercedes but wont be my last. I have had 37 cars over the past 20 years. It is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Buy it, you wont be disappointed.

Love it - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
By Bill - December 31 - 8:20 pmMost fun Ive had driving a car in a long time. And in a city where BMW builds cars, the new design and AMG body panels get a lot of compliments.

C230 - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
By Lynn Vincuillo - December 23 - 10:43 pmBroken sunroof within 3 days of purchase. Unable to close. Car received with difficulty opening cup rack in consol brought in for repair but, not fixed. Very unstable cup rack. Broken latches on console in 4 months of use prohibiting use of storage boxes. Brake drum rust in 4 months looks awful but Im told by dealership is normal. Cannot move in slightest bit of snow as well as sliding into oncoming traffic in the highway intersection when stopped on incline. I was put in a very frightening situation and personally having the ability to drive every type of vehicle, I must state the cars performance with any unstable surface, is very poor. I am presently looking at a trade-in.

Saved by the Benz! - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
By Scott - October 14 - 9:06 pmI finally found a vehicle that I felt good about. Great price, great fuel economy and very good customer service. I purchased a demo here in ATL in May and find myself liking the car more and more everytime I drive it. Im coming from an SUV that avgd at most 20 mpg. My C230 hit an avg high of 33.5 mpg a couple of weeks ago. I went a full two weeks without fueling! The AMG design is classic and the car is roomy enough to take friends to dinner. I never thought that I would own a Benz and plan on keeping this one as long as I can.
