This Year's Model Updates:

The new model year brings freshened exterior styling to the C-Class. A new dash, redesigned seats and tweaked trim pieces help to polish the interior up a bit, as well. A new audio system with six speakers and a CD player is standard across the board. Further updates include an improved short-throw six-speed manual transmission and revised suspension tuning. A DVD-based navigation system is newly available, while the C320 wagon has been discontinued. The complimentary scheduled maintenance program has been dropped for 2005.

Pros:
  • State-of-the-art safety and luxury features, three body styles to choose from, pleasing power from top V6 engine.
Cons:
  • More expensive than competitors, ordinary cabin furnishings, small backseat.

  • Nice entry level sports sedan - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The car has been great and is fun to drive. I wish it had more power (was driving a 6 spd Maxima) especially when the A/C is on. Handling is wonderful and the car loves corners. I only purchased 2 options (CD changer and sunroof package) and have been very pleased. So far the car has had two unscheduled services (sunshade instalation and cold start/computer issue). Annual oil change at dealer was $150. Other than that no surprises to date. If buying again Id wait for the 320 or new 350 (new 2007/8 C-class looks amazing).

Of the C-class models, the C320 Sport Sedan is the best. It has the power to make driving fun, the styling to envy and the fuel economy to appreciate.

  • So much fun - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Tthis car is awesome. I have never been so excited to just go out and drive. Getting my car a little sideways at times, and racing occasionally have brought back my love for driving. All of this, and a very comfortable ride, and just unbridled power. Mileage is a little small. However I guess compared to competitors, its better. So thats a plus for me.

  • Best sport sedan on the market! - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I drove the BMW 3 series, Acura TL, Lexus IS300, Volvo S60 but none compare to the 2005 C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan. I really thought I wanted a BMW, but the dealer was awful and the car was plain with no options. The Mercedes dealer was WONDERFUL and the 2005 C-class is beautiful and feels much more expensive than it is (vs the BMW that feels cheap). My wife immediately said "this is the one" when we went on the test drive. The console lid was broken on delivery but the dealer offered to come to my house the next day to fix it. Ill be a Mercedes driver for life!

  • Excellent Commuter Cehicle - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I use this car predominantly for my 20 mile per day commute to work. It is a pleasure to drive and has excellent fuel economy for its class. On weekends Ive taken the family on longer trips - and even though its a small car everyone has been comfortable. I now have 5000 miles on the odometer and have had zero problems with this car.

I bought my 2005 C230K at 67,000 mi for $13,000 three years ago and just turned 165,000 mi and am very pleased with it. I drive between Phoenix, Los Angeles and Las Vegas weekly and it has really never let me down. Plenty of kick from the supercharged 1.8L 4 cyl engine and the slap shift auto trans is great although it tends to over rev when putting it through extreme shifts at 70mph+.

  • One Bad Benz - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I love this car! As a (former?) Porschephile I can appreciate the raw power and the usual German quality this car provides. Its a keeper. Sometimes the transmission seems to have a mind of its own as I find myself in manual mode at the strangest times. Maybe Im hitting the paddle and not realizing it? The power is awesome, the low profile tires make it really handle well and the exterior is mundane enough as to not draw attention from the cops. What a deal!

  • Fun to Drive - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I looked at the BMW 325,Acura TL and Volvo S60 2.4T/R models before choosing the Mercedes. Ive never regretted it. Ive been driving quite a bit in the past month and it is so fun to drive and comfortable on the driver. I used to own a BMW but Im not sure if Ill go back. Im waiting to see if the Mercedes has the long term quality that I would expect.

  • Will buy another one for my hubby! - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

This is the first MB Ive owned. Ive enjoyed every minute and every situation of driving this car. Now that the snow tires are put on, the MB winter driving proved much fun and saver than my other light-weight car in the house!

  • Beautiful Car - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I wanted a classic black MB that I could keep for a long time. This truly is one. I love the iconic look (double round headlights)of the car like a classic MB. The car is incredibly smooth and fun to drive. I took it in for service and was given a new 08 C300 to drive. It feels/looks like a Chrysler 300 on the inside...cheap cheap cheap. What was MB thinking. I couldnt be happier in my 3 year old MB which feels like a real MB compared to the new ones.
