This Year's Model Updates:

The new model year brings freshened exterior styling to the C-Class. A new dash, redesigned seats and tweaked trim pieces help to polish the interior up a bit, as well. A new audio system with six speakers and a CD player is standard across the board. Further updates include an improved short-throw six-speed manual transmission and revised suspension tuning. A DVD-based navigation system is newly available, while the C320 wagon has been discontinued. The complimentary scheduled maintenance program has been dropped for 2005.

Pros:
  • State-of-the-art safety and luxury features, three body styles to choose from, pleasing power from top V6 engine.
Cons:
  • More expensive than competitors, ordinary cabin furnishings, small backseat.

I love every aspect of this car. From the stylish design to the pounce of the 2.8ltr motor. Mercedes Benz has continued to excede our high standards in every way.

Had BMWs previously -- M3s, etc. This car is more comfortable but still fast and fun to drive. Ride is firm yet very comfortable.

  • Great car but w/typical euro bugs - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Ive had this car for about 3 mos and bought it used with 78k and so far its been a decent car. My gripe is mainly the lil buggy issues. 1. Driver side front parking lamp went out, now its working again. 2. Instrument cluster stopped working however the center digital center gauge is working fine and the dash lights still work. In other words, all the needles are at 0. Its an excellend drive and its pretty quiet on the road/freeway but Mercedes is suppose to be a well made automobile, but with little annoying things like this coming up it could potentially make the driver not want to purchase this brand of car again. Ps: This car has automatic trans.

  • A Solid Sedan - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I traded my 2000 SLK 230 for this car, and I dont miss my old roadster. Handling is awesome and impressive-- better than my SLK. This car is solid Mercedes all around and feels like one of the more expensive models. I had the 230 Sport loaned to me one day and it doesnt even come close to my car in performance--the 320 is a better package. The quality is superb and I find it more fun to drive than my Dads new E500. The car turns heads and the design is sexy. Interior design is great, but can use more room in the back seat. No complaints so far, except, I could use a little more power when I punch the gas at the stop light... One day Ill upgrade to an AMG model!

I am impressed by the performance of this vehicle. The gas consumption was great also. Looks are definitely eye catching to many as I drove it on the streets and highways.

  • Stop by your MB dealer now!!! - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I stopped by and looked at the BMW 3 series, Acura TL, Audi A4 and Volvos. Once you see the 2005 C230 sedan in person you will fall in love with it...pictures on the internet dont even come close. Overall a great package, it has style, handling, performance and that little something called MB...I expect quality to be world class.

  • Best buy for under $40K - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

This is my 2nd Mercedes C230 Kompressor and the 05 redesign is outstanding. I love the sporty aggressive stance it has. I recently had the misfortune of having a side impact collision with my car and I am so impressed with the stability of this car. Although the door was caved in on the passenger side, the air bags did not deploy thanks to the child safety component and the car really held its ground. I was shaken but unhurt. This was one of the main reasons I bought this car. Its economical to operate and it gives you the rock solid feel of a well built car while it still gives you ability to have fun. I traded an 04 BMW 330I for my MB and I dont regret it at all. Safety, comfort and style.

  • The Machine - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

This is the best "sedan" on the market for less than 60K. After a test drive in the S4, I was sold. The C55 is worth the extra $8K. The visability in the S4 is terrible and the Audi "V8" feels and sounds more like a turbocharged V6. I looked at the CTS- V and didnt bother to test drive it. The interior looked like crap. Caddy needs to get on board if they plan to sell cars in that price range. The C55 is a machine and handles like a car should. I test drove a CL65 ($235K)and the car did not make the driver feel that you were in control. The C55 is the only Mercedes-Benz that I have driven that felt like a BMW. I cannot understand why one would buy an E320 or E500 instead of a C55.

I just traded in the 2004 for the 2005 and I cant even begin to tell you how much more I am impressed. The new design inside and out is beautiful and modern. Handling on the freeways is crisp and precise. I love my new car!
