This Year's Model Updates:

The new model year brings freshened exterior styling to the C-Class. A new dash, redesigned seats and tweaked trim pieces help to polish the interior up a bit, as well. A new audio system with six speakers and a CD player is standard across the board. Further updates include an improved short-throw six-speed manual transmission and revised suspension tuning. A DVD-based navigation system is newly available, while the C320 wagon has been discontinued. The complimentary scheduled maintenance program has been dropped for 2005.

Pros:
  • State-of-the-art safety and luxury features, three body styles to choose from, pleasing power from top V6 engine.
Cons:
  • More expensive than competitors, ordinary cabin furnishings, small backseat.

This is every bit a Mercedes. It may be the entry level but it lacks nothing in handling, luxury or safety and fit. You pull up next to a Cadillac and you know why you chose Mercedes.

Take the time to test drive one of these if you have not already. Dont be mislead by reading the reviews for the coupe variant of the C-Class; that coupe was an abortion of a vehicle and shouldve never been built. I know because I traded one in for this sedan. I decided to give MB one more shot and Im glad that I did. The C- Class sport sedan is a stunning machine. The interior is finely crafted; the engine is smooth & responsive despite being supercharged. Road noise is very low, and if you get the entertainment package, prepared to be wowed by the audio. If you cant stomach the 06 pricing, look for one of these 05 beauties on the pre-owned lot - you will not be disappointed.

I traded in my 03 G35 for this little gem. Not as fast as the G35, but a wonderful, solid feel. Extremely well made, great handling, and MUCH better gas mileage. Im much less likely to get speeding tickets, yet Im really enjoying driving this exceptional car. The "Tiptronic" manual shifting is much better, quicker, than in the G35.

Had car since it was new. 2005 Mercedes C-230 Kompressor. Dont get me wrong the car is beautiful and is a jet when it comes to ride and handling but thats not what we use it for. The car is a daily to work and back car and every now and then a road trip maybe one state over. it seems like every week there is some expensive service that needs to be done on it. The car eats tires due to a poor suspension geometry, and you have to change the brakes every 20k miles it seems like. The car leaks oil and constantly showing error messages. I pride myself at maintaining my cars but I cant seem to stay on top with this one. Getting rid of it as soon as possible. 90k on it now.

  • Wow! - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I came out of a Porsche Boxster wanting something with four doors and performance. I did my homework and decided on the C55 AMG. I couldnt be more happier. Its faster than a Boxster and doesnt draw near the attention of a 2 seater sportscar. The tiptronic style transmission with the paddles on the steering wheel is nice but I usually simply put the car in "D". After 6 tanks of gas Im averaging just over 20 MPG. Not too bad. The climate control works well and the cruise control and other "dont have to take you hands off the wheel" controls are perfect. The enterior as a whole is well done with the center glove box being adjustable up and down- nice touch- Awesome car

This is a great zip around town car. I love the feel, looks, and handling. You could be going 90 and it feels like your going 30. just an all around awesome car.

  • A solid buy - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The C Wagon 4wheel drive is an excellent vehicle. Excellent engine. Its quiet, but with very good accelleration. Very good heater and A/C.Super solid feel that BMW or any Japanese brand cannot match. Only complaint is that vehicle is too low !

Great car. Fun to drive. A lot of features for the money and much more than comparable BMWs. Performance when you need it with the kompressor. Wife feels very safe in the car. Great gas mileage. On a recent 300mi highway trip, I got 34mpg by using cruise and keeping my speed at 65mph

  • European Delivery on 230 Kompressor - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I took delivery at the plant in Sttutgart , receiving the royal treatment there, including a full tank of gas. Took off for Berlin inmediately in the Autobahn. Got it in the States for Christmas. Performance is beyond my expectations, handling , braking and high speed acceleration are superb and so is confort. Front seats can be stretched to form a bed for a quick nap in rest areas. Very thrifty on gas specially in the 60 miles range.

  • Im still having fun! - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Go buy it! I test drove the BMW 325i and found the C-Class better looking inside and out. Plus I think it has more leg room. Ive put over 1,300 miles and Im really enjoying it. Get the Entertainment Package, love the Harman/Kardon sound system. Im surprised by the power of the little supercharged 4-banger. I just got out of a 2001 Volvo S60 2.4t, its smaller inside then the Volvo but Im having fun!!! The ride is better and quieter. So far Im really enjoying the car.
