A two-tone gray interior color scheme is also new, and metallic interior accents replace last year's wood grain accents.

Sorento runs great and has a nice smooth ride. Problems so far are minor, some water leakes in to tray of the sunroof in the rear into a track. They say that is a drain track ??? am radio fades in and out. .Check your sunroors in the back ! overall this is a nice truck.

  • Transmission Problems Already? - 2004 Kia Sorento

I was excited to have radio controls on the steering wheel, except that I dont use them b/c its too difficult to reach & work the volume control - its on the inside of the wheel. Kia used the Seek function instead of moving you through your pre-selected stations. You may have to go thru multiple stations before you get to one you want. Its easier to reach over and change the stations on the dash! Finally, my Sorento has been towed to the dealership with only 1900 miles on it for transmission problems. Diagnosis: "their equipment wasnt working and the mechanic had gone to lunch for the next hour." Hum...Is this the start of a bad relationship?

  • Think about your spine first - 2004 Kia Sorento

If you have back problems like me, do not think to buy a Sorento. The ride is very stiff and road vibrations will affect your spinde for sure. I have herniatic disc and since I bought this car I am in pain. Besides that,if you are healthy go ahead and buy one

The Sorento has a roomy interior and is easy to convert for more cargo space. The ride is good for a four wheel drive vehicle and the handling is good

We just purchased our 2004 Kia EX and love it so far. The fit and finish inside and out are on par with other more costly SUVs - and even better in some cases. The fat Michelin tires are a plus. The styling is right on. Kudos to Kia on their first attempt at directly competing with other SUVs in this ever changing market. Unfortunately, the less than great gas mileage (although on par with the Ford Explorer) and louder than expected engine noise are its only drawbacks thus far. Excellent service department at the dealership.

  • Still Happy! - 2004 Kia Sorento

After 2 years and 40,000 miles, I still enjoy driving to and from work every day in my Kia Sorento. My wife also bought a Sorento 9 months after I bought mine and she really likes it too. Both vehicles have been reliable so far and they handle very well on the road. I recommend the Sorento for anyone who wants an SUV but is on a budget.

  • I love my Kia - 2004 Kia Sorento

My Kia is an 04 and currently has 92k miles on it. I have changed the oil regularly, just got new tires last year, needed to change the tail lights about once a year. Other than that-new brakes...havent had a problem until now. I have an oil leak and the mechanic has to take the engine apart to find the leak. Said it would be $300-$400. So, not bad for 92k miles. I love my Kia-have had fun driving it. I will keep it until it dies! The gas mileage isnt very good but it is paid off due to the 0% financing I got on it when purchased new. I was rear ended by a very large truck going 45 mph and I was at a complete stop with my baby in the back seat. This Kia took the hit from hell like a champ.

I love my KIA. Gas milage is pretty poor, but I knew that going in. I hated Thomas Kia in Highland Indiana, the place is a scam, they go back on their word. But, they had the car I was looking for. Great, purchase.

  • impressed but didnt buy - 2004 Kia Sorento

If ur even thinking about a mid-size SUV, do not buy another w/o at least looking at this one first. 2 blocks n2 a test drive, I was saying “wow”. As everyone says, it has all the features, comfort & style of SUV’s costing $15K more. Yet I bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee instead. Tho it stickered just under $40K after rebates & 5 min of haggling, I got the price down to $28K matching the KIA. In the end, for the same money I couldn’t get over my prejudice about Kia’s past bad rep, the Jeep has a V8 with 30% more hp & my pos exp w/ past Jeeps. If the dif in the bottom line had been greater, wouldve bought the KIA. I think the KIA ride is smoother.

  • Kia can still improve - 2004 Kia Sorento

The problem is that the check engine light continues to go on. I have brought it to be serviced 5 times in 8 months and they still cannot fix it.
