This Year's Model Updates:

Jaguar introduced its youth-oriented X-Type last year, so 2003 holds little changes for the baby Jag. There's a slight reduction in the price of the base model, and electrochromic mirrors are standard on all trim levels. Cars equipped with the 3.0-liter mill now get 17-inch wheels and a CD player as standard equipment.

Pros:
  • Reasonable base pricing, sporty handling, all-wheel drive, currently the only Jaguar available with a manual transmission.
Cons:
  • Spartan interior design, some less-than-prestigious Ford-themed switchgear and exterior styling cues, price goes up with options faster than you can say "Ford Mondeo."

This Jag is a very built car. This was my first car. I looked at the BMW and Benz but none compared to this car. I put 50000 miles on it since march and has never given me any problems except for winy brakes. Got me from college in Illinios to Louisiana in a breeze.

Had the X 3.0almost a year. It is a great car. It reacts to my command. I average 50 miles a day to work on a interstate so you know I need comfort, ecomony and style. I go with the wind. Love my Baby X.

What else to say? The front-end looks are what sold me on this car. This stands out from the Mercedes, the Audi and the Beemer. Needed the alignment and a road force balance immediately.

This car is just awesome and makes you feel like a million bucks! It is so woman friendly. Initially, I thought that Jaguar cars cater more to the male customer and I was proven wrong. I love the design of the car. Its performance and design wowed me over. People stare at the car whenever I am driving it. It is so easy to drive and the traction is very good. The engine is quiet, performance superb and the interior was a winner. I also like the safety features of the car, the anti-theft system etc. I love everything about this car. If I need another car someday, I definitely will buy another Jaguar. I feel that I am now hooked on to Jaguar cars.

  • Similar Cats -Sable/Jaguar - 2003 Jaguar X-Type

When I first saw this car I thought it was unique and inexpensive (a $349/mo lease) so really anybody can afford it. The reality is that it is not unique and looks just like the Ford Sable. I am not surprised since Ford does own Jaguar. The reliability is questionable since we all know both Ford and Jaguar do not have the best records. In summary the reality is this car is a Sable in Jaguar clothing! Remember, you get what you pay for.

"She" has been in my life now for almost a year after being introduced to me by a British salesman as my first car. We have endured the haterism of the Ford jokes & negativity of her brands past failures in reliability as she continues to live up to a tradition of luxury & a quality performance automobile. Against all odds, she has performed far more better than anyone expected. Surprisingly, my most harshest critics have never driven in a Jaguar, therefore they have never experienced its distinction & luxurious feel. Shes a rarity on any road. She drives through the Northeast winter storms like an SUV with her AWD capability.

  • Jag X-Type good value used - 2003 Jaguar X-Type

Car has lived up to expectations. It is not a performance monster, but has good pick up and decent gas mileage (hwy has hit 28 mpg, averages 26-27, around 22 in town). Build quality is acceptable and the interior is simple but well done. Awd and braking are the best features on the X-type, especially for winter weather driving.
