Overview & Reviews
Jaguar introduced its youth-oriented X-Type last year, so 2003 holds little changes for the baby Jag. There's a slight reduction in the price of the base model, and electrochromic mirrors are standard on all trim levels. Cars equipped with the 3.0-liter mill now get 17-inch wheels and a CD player as standard equipment.
- Reasonable base pricing, sporty handling, all-wheel drive, currently the only Jaguar available with a manual transmission.
- Spartan interior design, some less-than-prestigious Ford-themed switchgear and exterior styling cues, price goes up with options faster than you can say "Ford Mondeo."

Big mistake for my money. - 2003 Jaguar X-Type
By nomorejags14 - March 30 - 11:02 amI bought it for my wife, even so it was used for only three years, after a week the radio screen stop working, not long the wheels bent(all four). Check engine light came on, cat converter 2, after replacing twice the light stills on, then all codes possibles were detected by the scanner, PO 116,PO 300s, PO 430, and no mechanic could even look at it. Last hope I took it to a expert, his first words get rid of this thing. I did and now happy is my middle name.

I Do Love This Ride - 2003 Jaguar X-Type
By yachtboy - February 28 - 10:00 amI have nothing but good things to say about my Jag. Its a 2.5 w/ a 5 speed and it puts the fun back in driving. Ive had a few problems with it, but the dealer has never let me down by providing a loaner while my car is serviced. Even though its the least expensive Jag, it impresses others when you say you have a Jag. I also noticed that garages treat you differently when you pull in and bring yu your car. Its not the price of the car, but the image it conveys

By dawgfan - February 16 - 2:00 amExcelent car... JAGUAR, says it all.. Beautiful car.. 3.0 is a must... Handles and accelerates like a sports car... Looks and rides like a Luxury car... Glad we chose the JAG over the 330i or the C-class...

My Baby Jag - 2003 Jaguar X-Type
By AL - February 6 - 4:30 pmI have had mine for almost a year now with no problems. The car handles like no other I have ever owned, it has good power, and it turns heads like no car I have ever owned, and this thing will really take a corner at any speed, no torque steer, no drift, a joy to drive.
