We bought our van used, but it only had 43K miles. At 52K miles we noticed that every morning it would hesitate shifting, or shift hard. Once it warmed up, the problem wouldnt appear until the next morning. We took it to the dealership, and they said it needed a new transmission. I am a die hard Honda lover, but am disappointed with this flaw. We buy Honda for their reliability.

This is a great minivan and well worth the price. I am impressed with its handling, powerful engine and the navigation system is a must have. The naviagation system has already saved me a few times. I looked at the new Sienna too, but it is a few grand more, and doesnt yet offer the navigation.

  • Honda Odyssey, not perfect - 2003 Honda Odyssey

It is a very good mini, my third mini van after Chrysler and Ford. The inside is great, especially I love folding in the third seat to the floor. The gas mileage is fair, with a very small gas tank. Ride and handling are good. air conditioning is good. Very quiet inside. When applying brakes sometimes there is a very annoying click, dealer said was standard. Desperately want a hybrid mini van, will corner the market. The best mini vans by far are Honda, and the brand new Toyota and Nissan, but far too few and prices are too high. Make a hybrid mini van in huge quantities and corner the market.

  • Odyssey Drives like Accord with SUV Powr - 2003 Honda Odyssey
    By -

Searching for a strong SUV, I found myself returning to the Odyssey for its incredible interior comfort, ease to drive, size above the road, stability, Power and towing capcity, which out ranks many SUVs. Every seat is plush, comfortable and at 63", I can sit comfortably in the back with plenty of headroom, air and sound quality. Truly it drives like an Accord with the Power of an SUV and rides higher than most SUVs as well, but handles the corners and turning radius is amazing.

Inside seating design is awkward & uncomfy.

  • Never Thought I would buy a mini-van - 2003 Honda Odyssey

With the arrival of our first child and the aging of my wifes car, we started to look for a dependable, safe car - and picked the Odyssey because of its safety features. I never knew how comfortable a mini-van could be.

  • This van had 2 recalls. - 2003 Honda Odyssey

Has any one had tranny problems after the recall was done ? They added a oil cooler line to 2nd gear, Honda told me this stopped the transmission problem, I have my doubts.
