Overview & Reviews
The Odyssey gains an intermittent rear window wiper this year, as well as an auto up-and-down driver-side window.
- Excellent crash test scores, huge interior, fold-flat third-row seat, powerful V6, optional navigation and entertainment system.
- Quality of some interior materials could be better, high demand limits negotiating possibilities.

Nice Van - 2003 Honda Odyssey
By Jeremy - March 22 - 9:47 amI am pleased overall. First the bad. This minivan has a lot more windnoise than any previous honda vehicle Ive driven. The factory radio/cd player has poor sound quality. So consider getting an aftermarket unit. It also does not allow enough flexibility in the volume control. Its either way too loud or too soft... My wife and I love the strong engine, power sliding doors, and heated leather seats. It drives like a car, not like a van. Im not sure why people are giving this bad marks for gas mileage. Mileage is very good for a minivan. I am consistently getting over 20 mpg in mixed driving....much better than SUVs..

Great Van - 2003 Honda Odyssey
By HOLA - March 3 - 10:00 amI was surprised at how well this van handles, its like a sedan. Its extremely roomy, even when the van is packed with people and luggage. On on the passenger front seat, the fabric on the right armrest on the door will eventually tear off because the fabric is thin and it has a hard surface under it. Overall its a great van, and I look forward to many years of driving the Honda Odyssey

Lemon - 2003 Honda Odyssey
By Tom - February 13 - 9:08 pmProblems with EGR valve. Five trips to dealer to fix this (under warranty). Light in clock quit working. Engine started leaking oil at 63,000 miles (out of warranty). Honda dealer blamed it on a Wal-Mart oil change (not a fact based analysis). Changed the rear main seal and still leaked (Honda did cover this charge). Next recommendation was to change the engine at my expense ($2800). Dealer where the vehicle was purchased refused to do the repair after I asked for a guarantee that the engine change would fix the leak. No more Hondas at this house. Also the transmission now "clunks" when put into reverse to back out of the garage.

Odyssey EX-L DVD review - 2003 Honda Odyssey
By jsabowabo - November 8 - 3:00 pmWeve owned our Odyssey for about six months. This thing is fast and smooth. My wife loves it having come off a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It is very comfortable, handles very well, rides well and is generally a lot of fun to drive. Since weve owned it we have had a couple of problems. The brake safety switch went out, locking the vehicle in park, and Ive had to replace all of the rotors. Weve been averaging about 18.5 MGP in combined city/freeway driving, with a bias towards city. Overall we love the van, you just cant beat the versatility of these things and still have something fun to drive.

Is there a better Minivan? - 2003 Honda Odyssey
By Rikki L - September 30 - 2:00 amQuite Simply the best minivan on the market. here and abroad. The ride is great, power is more than adequate, beats my 98 Widstar hands down. The dissapearing third row seat should win an innovation award. It drives so well I am hard pressed to decide between the 2003 V6 Accord and another minivan

Bottom Line on the Ody - 2003 Honda Odyssey
By lawnboy - September 14 - 10:00 amResearched extensively then bought 02 model in late 01. Overrated. Left us stranded twice. Problems with American Honda honoring warranty. Good fuel mpg, smooth engine, fold down seat, but...big wind noise, transmission hunts excessively (reliability issues are real) controls not backlit, sliding doors slow and unreliable, shifter has unnatural throw-hits wiper stalk, drivers seat uncomfortable for long rides, front Power point located on floor difficult to use with no auto- off, fuel sloshes in tank excessively, re-sale not as advertised-
