The Odyssey gains an intermittent rear window wiper this year, as well as an auto up-and-down driver-side window.

Pros:
  • Excellent crash test scores, huge interior, fold-flat third-row seat, powerful V6, optional navigation and entertainment system.
Cons:
  • Quality of some interior materials could be better, high demand limits negotiating possibilities.

  • Auto power off needed - 2003 Honda Odyssey

I love my new Odyssey. With that said a fatal flaw is the lack of a auto power off feature like in Dodge and Chevy. Minivans tend to have kids in them and kids tend to leave lights on. I wouldnt go back to my Dodge Caravan because of it, but it is annoying to have the battery run down.

  • Honda has lost its superior service - 2003 Honda Odyssey

The transmission just went out on our vehicle with a price tag of $5100.00. There are documented transmission problems in the odyssey and the price tag is very excessive. We have done all scheduled maintenance and taken great care of the van. We have also had several electrical problems which have proven to be an enigma to Honda. My 2 year old was locked in the car in the heat of the summer due to locking problems with the car. Of course it took several months to prove to the dealer that there was indeed a problem. We have been loyal Honda/Acura drivers but are absolutely done with American Honda. Do not be taken advantage of by the high price tags assurance of superior service.

Thought I would never own a Minivan and purchased a Dodge Durango in 1999 for the 7 passenger seating. What a piece of garbage... I will NEVER buy another Dodge or domestic automobile. We own a 99 Accord V6 and now a 03 Odyssey with Entertainment and Leather. This VAN handles and performs very well, I think I am behind the wheel of our Accord. I drove em all (VANs) out there and nothing compared to the Odyssey. I got to sit in new Toyota Sienna at the local car show recently. Looks cheap and does not stand up to the Odyssey. The 3rd row seat is like 2 inches thick. Nice try Toyota ... but, not quite there yet.

No major mechanical problems whatever in over 100,000 miles. Simple and smooth to drive. Enough power to carry quite heavy loads easily into the mountains. Extremely reliable.

  • A wonderful minivan! - 2003 Honda Odyssey

This vehicle has an exceptional smooth ride and no real blind spots that I could detect. I have become a fan of the Odyssey since my first purchase in 2002. I dont think I would ever own any other vehicle. Overall, this vehicle has a high rating in both safety and comfort. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone who has a large family and likes to travel or likes space and comfort.

We finally traded our 96 DGC-LE for a new 03 Ody EX-L. I got a discount off MSRP of ~$2,500. The leather interior is so comfortable and the power, performace, and handling really exposed my old vans sloppy ride and very poor pick-up. We like the power doors, large rear cargo area, and excellent climate control system. There were a couple of items I wish it had (temp/compass display and 60/40 split 3rd row mainly). I also feel my family is much safer given this cars on road safety record over the last few years and the crash scores (much better than our old van). We are looking forward to 6-7 years of comfortable, reliable, safe driving.

  • Mini Van that still needs improvements - 2003 Honda Odyssey

Good Power train and lots of room make this van a great hauler. But needs many improvements specialy the driver seat support.

  • Our First Van We love it! - 2003 Honda Odyssey

Being our first Van I dont have much to compare it to but I do enjoy the power of the V6 engine although it does drink the gas like water. I drive pretty fast about 80-95 mph and am only getting about 18-20 mpg. Other wise I love it. It looks great and is very comfortable.

  • Good bang for the buck - 2003 Honda Odyssey

Choosing between the Honda Odyssey and the new Toyota Sienna. Ive settle with the Odyssey since Toyota isnt making any deal on the new 04 Sienna. We took the car on a 2000+ miles road trip to Oregon just after a few days of purchase before the Labor day weekend. The handling is solid, excellent over all performance. Turning radius is good but the new Sienna is a bit smaller. You really cant go wrong with this Van.
