My wife and I enjoy the driveability, seating, storage and gas mileage. It now has 80,000km which is 50,000miles. We find the plastic used on interior marks easily. The plastic that surrounds the clothe upholstery is cracking. The seat belts do not retract without help. The Bridgestone tires had to be replaced at 66,000 or 41,000 miles. The brakes had to be replaced at same time but some of problem could have been a lot of downhill braking. When making sharp turns to park or move in slow driving there is an obvious rumble from the rear wheels more obvious on sharp right movements. My mechanic is not familiar with the Honda 4 wheel drive system. It will have to go to Honda for evaluation.

2002, CRV EX. Fun to drive but corners poorly. Washes out on wet roads when turning from a complete stop. Enjoy the storage capacity in back. Also very comfortable/roomy interior for family of three. But, not a family car. Relatively quite. Good luck from local dealer (Rosen,Gurnee IL). Retains blue book value drastically better then Pontiac. 5,000 miles with no repairs needed.

My husband and I decided to buy the CR- V after our second car died. We began searching the web for top cars of the year and Honda CR-V reappeared over and over again. Apparently I was living under a rock and had no clue that Honda is such a good car. Finally we got the CR-V and its a cool car to drive. I am obesed by the fact that the 2003 CR-V is bigger than the CR-Vs of the past. Honestly Edmunds customer reviews helped us decide to make the final purchase and we are glad we did. My husband and all my friends say I look really cute driving it because "its just my size." On

The day we drove off the lot and started driving our shiny new EX on the highway I tested the cruise control. It wasnt working. Had to leave the car with the dealer for 2 days to fix. Then within 8 months had 3 recalls on this . At 18000 had to get new brakes and at 26000 new tires. At 78,000 2 of my engine mounts broke which affected the axles. So for $750 got that fixed (by my mechanic), the dealer told me that it will cost me $1,600. Now I have to replace the bushings. Its been not a good experience owning this vehicle. By the way most of the driving is highway and local. I wouldnt dream of taking this offroad. Never recommending a Honda product to my worst enemies (or friends).

I bought this car not so long ago, however I am convinced that I wont buy anohter car for a long time to come. The interior is very spacious and also extreemly useful - there are 22 storage compartments. Since it is a Honda it is definetly reliable and durable. The performance is nothing compared to a sports car, but suits the car perfectly. The fuel economy is very reasonable - 23 mpg. It is a very well built and fun to drive car.

Love it--though have had it just a few months. Only gripe is back window when reversing--difficult to gauge when/if contact will be made when doing parallel parking. Have ordered the backup reverse mirror from hondasuv.com

  • Why I Switched From A Volvo - 2003 Honda CR-V
    By -

After reviewing all of the features available with the CRV, I decided that this vehicle was best suited for our familys needs. We previously had a Volvo, which would not compare for quaitly Vs. cost per vehicle. We actually purchased two CRVs to replace the Volvo.

i love my cr-v!! its very roomy and fun to drive. although i wasnt sure about the tire on the outside when i was looking at SUVs im very happy with my choice because of the extra room i have in the back...if i had to say one negative thing about it, i would say that the ride is a little rough..i would highly recommend this suv...
