This has been a great vehicle. We are very happy with it. 5,000 miles and no problems so far. Great gas milage for an SUV. New engine (2002+ models) has plenty of power. Lots of interior room for mini-suv.

  • Good Car But Beware of Air Cond Problems - 2003 Honda CR-V

For the most part I have enjoyed my CR-V. It is great for road trips and hauling a lot of stuff. Its very comfortable to drive and I love sitting up higher than a car. My main minor complaint is noise in the cabin, especially on the highway, but I knew this was an issue before I bought it. Also, the 4 cyl engine seems to struggle at times, especially when accelerating. My major complaint - at 55k, the air compressor just blew and the entire system has to be replaced. Estimate is $3,000.

Owned one for six months...just traded it for a different car. Way too many flaws to list...major ones include a fender that did not match from the factory, and rear seat belts latches that would come unbuckled on their own (leaving my son unattached in his car seat!!!)Seats are hard and too narrow, Stereo is tinny, Road noise is very load, side-to-side visibility is terrible if not dangerous, many of the controls are backwards and the locking system frustrating. Vehicle is NOT roomy inside it is very narrow and tall which makes it feel cramped. The plastics which there is a lot are easily scratched.

Excellent vehicle! Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a small SUV. Very quiet and gets pretty good gas mileage (25 MPG). Reasonably peppy but would like a little more horsepower. Real-time FWD works very well. Love the 6-disc CD changer. Air conditioner works extremely well, cooling the car in seconds.

  • Honda not living up to reputation - 2003 Honda CR-V

After my disaster with my first car, a 94’ Ford Thunderbird, I decided to listen to my friends who told me of Honda’s legendary build quality. What I found with this CR-V was that it drove well and has a nice design however, they did a lousy job with the air conditioner unit. It went out first in ’04 after only 31,000 miles on it. Then it went out again in ’06 when I had over 90,000 miles on it. Today 6/9/2007 it has gone out again. Other then this problem it has been a great vehicle.

The CRV has been a good car until recently. I agree with the other reviews which say that the car is fun to drive, decent gas mileage, power, etc. Minor problem began when it was two years old. It developed a rattle on the front right side and odd tire wear. Dealer still claims that they can not find a problem. Interior parts started to break through normal use and rubber matting on dash started to peel up. Now I am dealing with the A/C compressor failure which Honda denies is common in the 2002-2005 CRV. I hope that Honda will pay for A/C repairs 100% to help restore my confidence in them.

Living in Erie, PA, where the weather changes every two minutes, this car has totally stood up to all my needs!

  • Rock solid, smart choice - 2003 Honda CR-V

Its not the fastest, its not the biggest, its not the best handling. But it has the best combination of those categories in the small SUV segment (at the moment). Resale value and reliability are about the highest you can get in its class. It feels like the solid, quality, well designed and assembled car that it is. Great steering calibration. Super useful interior with easy rear seat folding.
