This Year's Model Updates:

With an all-new model scheduled for '05, there are few changes for the 2004 Ford Mustang. All models wear commemorative 40th anniversary exterior badging, while V6 and GT models can be ordered with a full 40th anniversary package that includes additional exterior and interior enhancements.

Pros:
  • Available V8 power, variety of trim levels, healthy dose of American attitude.
Cons:
  • Archaic underpinnings, cheap interior materials, choppy ride.

have always wanted one!!! Its a beautiful little car with plenty of zip - just right for me. I love to see other mustang drivers looking at my little black gt convertible. I have had people stop and ask me questions about accessories i have added - polished stainless steel inserts on hood scoop and side vents and m u s t a n g stainless steel inserts on back bumper.

I am extremely happy with my 2003 Mustang. The one thing that shocked me though, was the fact that after owning it for less than a month, the oxygen sensors went out. That was something that I wouldnt have expected. Other than that, Im extremely happy with the car, and I really enjoy driving it.

  • A joy to drive - 2004 Ford Mustang

I am definatly biased I have wanted a Mustang convertable since the first time I saw one. I cannot say I am dissapointed in my 2004 ragtop. Driving is now much more fun. Even the trip to work at 5:30 am is enjoyable.

  • Muscle Car Returns - 2004 Ford Mustang
    By -

I grew up during the muscle car era when they ruled main streets all over America. With the mid- 70s oil crisis muscle cars slowly faded away. Finally, John Coletti, another baby boomer finally resurrected the power and feel of a muscle car. With a 2004 Mustang GT, I had to shift down to 3rd gear to get decent torque and yet feel more power in 6th gear on the highway for passing in the SVT Cobra, making highway driving a dream! The SN95 is the ultimate aerodynamic body style ever made for the Mustang and from the front, nothing beats the 03-04 SVT Cobra fascia. Compared to all other performance cars this is the ONLY one you could get new for under $40,000.

  • Mustang GT 40th Anniversary Edition - 2004 Ford Mustang

Absolutely love this car. Wish FORD would get a better interior panel package. Same pkg has been used for too many years. Heres a hint FORD: look inside a NISSAN. Instrument panel, dash is fully loaded not a plain Jane. For such a beautiful exterior as Mustang, should be total work of art.

  • MACH I is fun!!! - 2004 Ford Mustang

Purchased my MACH I and didnt know what to expect until I drove it. The first time I mashed the gas I was sold. Ive driven GTs, the MACH I is a whole different animal. Pure power and performance.

  • great car with little room - 2004 Ford Mustang

  • Ive Had a Better Mustang - 2004 Ford Mustang
    By -

I had a 1996 GT that could run circles around this one but some jerk totaled my parked car that only had 68k miles on it. So I bought the 04 V6. Wow, does it handle differently! The power is definitely less, and the GT cornered like it was on rails. The GT also had a rear stablizing bar and wider tires for much better traction in the rain and snow. The 04 gets excellent gas mileage (from Philadelphia to Connecticut on 3/4 a tank) and is very reliable (except the CD player).

Too good looking to pass up, always wanted a muscle car. A blast to drive and love the burble of the exhaust. Agree with other comments that 1st is too short and 5th too tall. Gas mileage seems to vary wildly for no particular reason. from 11-17 around town. Prehistoric technology that makes me smile.
