This Year's Model Updates:

With an all-new model scheduled for '05, there are few changes for the 2004 Ford Mustang. All models wear commemorative 40th anniversary exterior badging, while V6 and GT models can be ordered with a full 40th anniversary package that includes additional exterior and interior enhancements.

Pros:
  • Available V8 power, variety of trim levels, healthy dose of American attitude.
Cons:
  • Archaic underpinnings, cheap interior materials, choppy ride.

This is a very stable convertible. Very still ride, not all loose and rubbery like most convertibles and the power is awesome!

Basically this is the first new car Ive had. Im 17 and have been driving a 1992 Lexus ES300 for over two years. Anyway, I was lucky enough to get this car due to some amazing deals being offered by Ford. Since money was tight, we decided to opt for the standard transmission. Lucky me. The tight gearbox was a little odd at first, but it is actually easier to shift then on standard gearboxes. While it doesnt have the full power of my old car (stupid governer chip!) I love the acceleration, and it goes smoothly to 115 (top speed) all the way in fourth. Fifth just makes things smoother.

I have owned mine for 6 months and am generally happy with it. This car is a worthy bearer of the Mach 1 moniker and accurately recaptures the raw performance of the late 60s musclecar era. The DOHC engine is a little peaky in its power curve compared with the traditional pushrod V8s so it really lauches when you hit 3000rpm and makes some sweet music. The gearing is a bit low for everyday driving. A two-speed rear end or 6 spd would be nice to have

Rear bumper and wheel housing weak. Electric windows squeak. Interior not well insulated - road & engine smell strong.

I have had nothing but great moments with this car, handles really nice and man does that supercharger launch it from 0-60 in no time flat. Any first time passengers leave my car with a grin from ear to ear.

This car looks great! It is sporty and has great pickup for a 6 cylinder. Although I wish I could have afforded the GT convertible, the looks of the 6 cylinder have not disappointed me in the least.
