Toyota for life. - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By Nancy Loureiro - December 25 - 7:12 amWe owned a GMC and within a few years of its life, quite a few things were already breaking. I purchased my 2000 Toyota Tacoma 2wd back in 2000 and it is still going strong in 2015. Other than some normal paint oxidization, I have no complaints. The only expensive maintenance we had done was replacing the catalytic converters and timing belt work but that was nothing compared to its years of service. This car has cost us so little money in its lifetime.

Great Truck - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By bergcorp - October 2 - 10:00 amHave never had a problem with any Toyota Truck I have owned. Great power (190hp) while still getting 20-22 MPG. Dealer added all options to bring this SR5 up to Limited Trim. Interesting that Edmunds gives a lower resale value for the SR5 with all the same options that are standard on the Limited. Is the "Limited" applique worth $2000 more than the "SR5" applique?

Top Quality Truck - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By Toyotatrucker - September 9 - 10:00 amI haved owned several Toyota trucks over the years and all of them have been extremely realiable. This truck is no exception. After 70000 miles I havent had one problem with the truck. I keep the oil changed and all the maintence performed and it treats me well. Also, the V6 power in this truck is sufficient for pulling my small fishing boat and equipment without a problem. Loads under a 1000 pounds are all youll want to put in the truck, however.

Best compact truck ever - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By dannybayless - September 1 - 11:43 pmIve owned several compact trucks and this is by far the best all around. The 2.7 pulls the rather heavy truck very well even with the 33" tires on 18" heavy rims Ive put on. The motor has potential to have much more power with a few minor adjustments, which I have done and am very pleased with. This truck has done all thats been requested of it while getting competitive gas mileage (19-23). Ive pulled over 10,000 pounds long distances over rugged terrain with ease, climbed the Smokey mountains, and taken 1000 mile trips with only the extremely uncomfortable interior to complain about. Other than uncomfortable ride, it beat expectations by far. I look forward to the next generation.

only toyota - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By Pumba - August 21 - 10:00 amI picked up my 2000 SR5 4WD V6 on the eve of 2000. I love this truck. I havnt put many miles on it until recently. I had a company car to drive. This is my second toyota (first a 1991 tercel) and my wife just bought a 2002 RAV4 which is awesome. This truck has plenty of power. The only drawbacks I see are the cruise control which is jerky, the seats are a little uncomfortable after a while, the bed of the truck jumps around like cray on bumpy city roads, and finally the gas miliage is terrible. I only an average 17mpg. I thought I would at least get 21 to 23. All that aside, I love this truck

By RAD131 - August 21 - 10:00 amI Paid $6100.00 cash in the fall of 1985 for a 86 standard LONG BED Toyota pick-up. Toyota stopped making the long bed over 10 years age. I wish they would bring back the awesome standard cab long bed. Im still drive my 86 truck with 213k and going strong. Ill buy a new toyota if theyll make it a long-bed!!!!

The Sweetest Little Truck in the World. - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By Ramona L. Duffy - June 18 - 9:23 amHow do I love thee, let me count the ways. :) I have loved it from the moment I saw it and I have never seen another truck that I would rather have. Even the later models of the same truck, I find wanting, style-wise. I didnt like the wide edging over the tires on the later models. Of course I own it now and my mileage is low and it is still adorable! It has never been one moments trouble. I am only five foot tall and the perfectly placed handles over the door make it snap to get in. I am 70 years old, by the way, and feel like a young chickie when I drive it. I have the bed liner and haul all sorts of stuff in it. I would buy it again. It is the best vehicle I have ever owned.

Oh What A Not So Good Truck ! - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By ToyOfDallas - May 29 - 2:00 amLike others I bought this truck with high anticipations based on that Toyota reputation. Over 7 services trips concerning my squeaky clutch, suspension, and faulty paint. The passenger seat is uncomfortable and even it squeaks. Im very disappointed. I love the body style and solid feel, but there isnt much else to brag about.

Nice truck, overall - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By ontario102 - April 17 - 2:00 amMy last 4 vehicles have been Toyos for good reason. These are the BEST, esp. when a truck like the Tacoma is compaired with the Nissan.
