THE - 2004 Toyota Tacoma
By Daniel Hedrick - December 28 - 4:13 pmThis truck is bad ass! I love my Tacoma, it is the most fun to drive. I wish that I had a little bit of better fuel mileage, but it is all good to me!

Best of trucks:Toyota - 2004 Toyota Tacoma
By trotter.3 - November 16 - 2:00 amWhen I see a Toyota add, I wonder why it doesnt push Toyotas greatest point: reliability. I know it will get me where I want to go. It starts every time, and requires minimal maintenance. When others tell me of car problems, I ask: what make is it? Why dont you get a Toyota? The last trip I made to my mechanic, I asked him to give my truck a good look over. I have 85000 miles on my truck. My mechanic came back and told me my Tacoma is in excellent condition. I wasnt surprsied. As a loyal Toyota customer, Ill never have any other make than a Toyota. You might, say Im in love with my Toyota.

Gets the Job Done - 2004 Toyota Tacoma
By Day Tripper - July 29 - 7:40 amThis is a great truck with a lot of get up and go. The Tacoma is well-built and Toyotas trademark mechanical craftsmanship has not disappointed. However, there are two areas that have been below par. The comfort is not the greatest. This isnt the vehicle one wants to travel in for long distances! The other detractor is the emergency brake. I cant even tell the brake is engaged. A couple of times I have forgotten to let it out, I have still been able to roll backward and drive forward without realizing the brake was on. In addition, the brake is ancient in its design - a pull out stick under the ignition. That may have something to do with its effectiveness.

Very Dependable! - 2004 Toyota Tacoma
By Hunter - July 9 - 2:26 amThis is a great truck! I chose to buy the smaller Tacoma with the 2.4 4-cyl for better gas mileage. I calculate my mpg at every fill-up and consistently get 22-23 mpg. This includes 50%hwy/50% city driving. I am pretty easy on the pedal so that makes a difference. The auto trans is a little sluggish in city driving. It is geared pretty low so it can pull what its rated for. I just wish it had a little more "get- up." Extended cab was not made for people. It is best for storing tools or groceries. I hate that I have to sell it but with a growing family it doesnt have enough room. This truck has really held its value!!

2004 Tacoma sr5 with the TRD package - 2004 Toyota Tacoma
By ChefNeil - May 29 - 2:00 amI bought the 2004 Tacoma, fully loaded, extended cab, for $24,000. When researching the compact pickups, I had read the ride was horriable in the tacoma. The ride infact is better than any pickup I have ever been in, and similar to a car. We just got 8" of snow, and the 4x4 handling was outstanding. When i want the truck to get up and go, s

The best - 2004 Toyota Tacoma
By fstedee - May 18 - 10:00 amMy 2nd prerunner and both have been great. Move the clock and reduce the wind noise. I have owned Toyotas since 1962 and will buy more if needed.A solid truck that performs as a truck is suppose to.

Toyota trucks cant be beat - 2004 Toyota Tacoma
By Uncle Dan - May 17 - 8:33 amI sold my beloved 88 Toyota extended cab truck to buy this one. That was the most reliable vehicle Ive ever owned and I hope the Tacoma holds up as well. After 11,000 miles, no problems at all. This is a well designed and laid out small truck. I purchased it through Edmunds internet referral service and it was simple. I entered the options I wanted and the next day I got a call from North Hollywood Toyota. They had the exact vehicle I wanted in stock and quoted a price that was 10% under sticker. I may have saved more with a lot of calls, but it wasnt worth it. I told em Id be out to pick it up and I was in and out of the dealer in less than an hour. Simple.

GREAT LITTLE TRUCK! - 2004 Toyota Tacoma
By Jar-Head! - March 31 - 10:00 amI finally decided to get rid of my 94 Toyota Pickup Truck (135,000 miles on it) and upgrade to something a bit nicer. I had to go with another Toyota truck - my 94 was just so good to me and really did hold its value - even with the high mileage. I wanted to wait for the new and redesigned 05 Tacoma but figured that the current model has been battle tested (something that new vehicles can only claim after being around for a few years). I really wanted a 4-door but was turned off at first when I found out that they only came with automatic transmissions. After a test drive I changed my mind. Bottom line - its a very solid truck that will last!
